Faction skill-loss

I'm guessing skill-loss was introduced in the days when there were massive faction fights defending bases and it gave the opportunity for a decisive victory. These days though these fights don't happen, people are in factions just for the uber stuff you can get.

I haven't been playing factions long but I already know that skill-loss gets old real quick. 20 mins downtime is likely to make me log and go do something else instead of waiting it out.

So how about a more up to date alternative? What about these ideas for when you die to an opposing faction:

1. Can't wear faction items for 20 mins. You will need to carry spare items or go get some.

2. Items like pots, bandies and regs don't drop to your corpse so you can't recover them.

3. You can't target the player that killed you for 20 mins but he can target you and you can fight back.

4. Still have skill-loss but make it much shorter, like as long as the aggression timer.

5. Some other penalty that doesn't mean you are out of it for 20 mins.

I know this comes across as whiney but I wanted to give factions a go and this has put me right off and I've already started the 3 day quit timer.

if your going to go factions. Come make a character on siege perilous its much much better... Come check it out.

I disagree with almost all of these. I'm not for invulnerability on anything, this isn't Quake.

I don't see their logic in dropping the times on the corruption times and control times, but they left stat loss? 10 minutes seems plenty, I'd say. Simple fix.
