Faction silver farming as ghost...

since the gm's do nothing about this I thought I would bring it up here

when u are ded and u leave a pet in a room full of demons for instance u get all the silver when u get res'ed...

and we have several ppl that do this on eu server leaving a g dragon in a room with demons to farm silver without any risk of losing anything and only the possibility of gaining...which if I remember right ain't in the spirit of fel...

risk vs reward I believe it is supposed to be but there ain't much risk in farming silver as a ghost then getting res'ed when safe and getting all the silver that ur pet has farmed for u placed in ur backpack...

then u can say just kill his pet ye I do that but they useally set them up at server up I useally login at noon that gives them around 5hours of farming which gives them a load of silver that they have no chance of losing...

please remove this feature from the face of uo!!!

Or you can go when no one plays to locations no one goes to and farm till youre heart desire, or you can do it invis or hidden or just hang out in one of many dead shards and xfer the silver over. Seriously silver is so easy to get who really cares. I dont care if feuture is removed or not but it was placed in game for a reason.

there is 1place u can farm wisps

there is 1place u can farm ogre lords

there is 0places u can farm silver serpents

thise places are regularly scouted to kill silver farmers and to get potentiel fights

this is ruined by players simply afk scribting as ghosts in dungeons...

this should not be in game if u can't see that this mechanism ruins the purpose of fel then I doubt that u know what fel is about and there for ur oppion doesn't matter to me...

Doesnt really matter i have more silver than I know what to do with. They can remove all silver right now and it doesnt matter. Everyone who wanted silver got it long ago when factions where dead on most shards. The only people you gonna end up killing are newbies. And me being in one of the most active shards in UO you just got to know what time to go thats all to it. And that type of attitude whith opinions dont matter well thats what puts other players away from fel or make these silver farming players not even take part in factions incase you wonder why fel is empty but what do I know my opinion dont count.

well it doesn't help to fill up the shard that the players that are in fel plays as a ghost which can't be attacked...

and I don't care how easy it is to farm silver I know it's easy that ain't the point the point is it can be farmed in fel without any risk what so ever which is not how fel is supposed to work...that is how tram works

Seriously, just think for a moment about how much cheating has impacted and ruined UO & how much of it can happen in Fel & how high the risk is of these impish cheaters actually getting caught enough so that it negatively impacts them.

well I know the gm's do crap for all

a mate told me he called in a gm on a speeder who had admitted he was using speeder and was running around with the fun speed that speeders does...the gm gave him the standard msg that they allways do that they would look into it...

the lovely speeder inquestion that the gm observed running around is still merrily running around with speeder on...

same goes for the ppl that been reported for farming silver in this way...

I think EA has told there gm's that they ain't allowed to ban anyone anymore coz the player base is so low that they don't want to lose any paying customers...

uo the age of cheaters it should be called...

hence y I posted this nice lil thing on stratics to try get some attention to it coz it is a game mechanic that should not be and that the devs atleast ought to be able to fix pretty easily... since they don't want to ban the ppl that abuse it...

though they will properly throw in some new bug when they fix it like they useally do...

You'd better get your facts straight, you can go to Blighted Grove, lure the coil away and summon 2 Energy Vortex's and farm silver serpents. This is also the fastest method to get silver, it's even faster than a dexer at demon temple since the spawn of serps is so fast.

Aye, this is a thing that should be removed. There is no reason a player should get silver while dead.

If I´m not mistaken something similar was done when the 10th Anni arties started to drop. People were farming those arties while dead but I think they fixed that.

They should fix this too!

u get the silver when u get res'ed had a tamer test it...

his pet killed 4wisps while ded when he got resurrected 80 silver got placed in his backpack.

and sorry didn't know there where silver serps in blighted grove rarely play in the new dungeons...

and no there ain't no silver serpents in deceit unless it's a very recent spawn they added...

What I do in such case is lure the dragon out of the room. Without sight of his master he will lose loyalty fast....

Should just make it where the silver goes to the corpse and anyone could loot the corpse in Fel. If there isn't a corpse, then no silver.

There were silver serpents in tram deceit in the back room in the bottom, it spawned liches and lich lords as well. I know the were there during the book of truth events, but I don't think they spawned on the Fel side. But then again I haven't gone to that room on the Fel side to look.

There is a room with 2 liches and a lich lord that used to have silver serpents, and I think it still does. I'll have to check when I get home.

I think this is the best solution. A tamer could just go out and grab the first decent pet it sees, with no intent on keeping it, and use it to gain 10k+ of silver afk as a ghost.

And this is also a bump to make sure the devs/CR see it.

I was thinking of joining factions.. with 120 taming I can tame GDs pretty easily. If none are around, regular dragons are cake. I always wanted to be wanted.. so I joined factions.

I kill myself so easily I wish it was in real life, peace at last.. yet my ghost is forced to haunt my naked body. My dragon still follows me, it can smell my ghostly body so much that all my necrophiliac fantasies would come true if I was such a dragon able to smell such sexy corpses, like my own.

I snap myself into reality as my woman scalds my face with coffee, and I go to work. I leave my nimble dragon to carry on the carrion I have sought so fiercely. With such an Easy U O who could quit?

Alas I return from servitude to find the corpses gone, save for the Daemons. Such pretty bodies. Before I hear the chimes of Marvin Gaye singing "Let's get it on", I make my way to a healer and ressurect my old nasty bones. So many thousands of silver in my body. I bank it without compunction.

I feel like a metallic Messiah. Kill me again! I want my dragon to prove himself again! Let me gain another 20k in silver while my mortal coil is enslaved in work or while I sleep! If it is ubonded alas, I will go tame another!

We are reasonably sure this is not working as intended, however we have no ruling on it.

While we keep accusations out of this thread it can stay active in hopes of a correction to the situation. If it begins to fill up with RoC violations you will be undermining the purpose of it.

u seem to be clueless so let me fill u in...

they start farming from server up

useally I login around 7hours after server up I go lure of there dragon if it's bonded so it goes wild then kill it...recently they started using unbonded pets though so I just kill it...

but 7hours of silver farming in a demon room is 14k silver they still will get...

and waiting for the next person u want us to stand in a room to wait for a tamer 24/7 to keep them from abusing a game mechanic...that my dear friend is a gm's job not mine so unless they pay me to keep them away I will keep pancakes about it till they fix it or ban all the tamers that do it (allways report them when I find them but they are allways back the next day...gm's doesn't care so if u want silver u can just go do it u won't get any actions against u)

but then again maybe it's a mechanic that the devs want ingame if so I would very much like to know it so that I can leave the sinking ship a bit before the rest of the rats...

Yes, this is something that I think devs should be giving an answer. Quick. Either they call it an exploit, and start seriously banning people for it, or they call it game mechanic, in which case some people will ban themselves. Or, of course they maintain the usual "don't know, don't wanna know" approach, which equals to self-ban anyway to me.

You can snoop a ghosts backpack by simply dbl clicking where the backpack should be on the ghosts paperdoll. Since this is possible it might also be possible to STEAL the silver from a ghost... Normally nothing stealable would still be in the ghosts inventory, but with the silver who knows....?

It's worth a try. If the farmers in question aren't standing around in war mode though you might need a theif with 100 spirit speak though.

I tested it, and it works you can STILL snoop packs from ghosts, though I thought it was fixed. Soulstones solve the SS problem, you have got all the time to go home, fetch SS and be back. It's not like the afk farmer is going anywhere...

Still, I would class the ability to steal from ghosts as an exploit too...

From what I´ve heard/read the ghost player doesn´t get the silver until AFTER they´re ressed...
