Faction items: Siege Perilous

Lower the cost of silver. All it is doing is making it easier for the better PvPers of the shard to have good items, and the new PvPers to be forced to use leather. To put together a good mage suit it costs about 100k silver, which can take between 8-12 hours to farm. This is coming from one of the GOOD PvPers on the shard, who dies every 1-2 weeks, CHANGE THIS. And I know everyone thinks "Oh well then an orny won't be worth jack" well it already isn't worth much, so no problems there, but here is my solution:

On Siege Perilous only, MAKE THESE NEW FACTION ITEMS CURSED. That way a mage or dexer can build a respectable suit in 1-2 hours, or 17-22k silver.

The problem is, many thought raising the prices would eliminate the use of them from the game, not true. The most elite players will always farm the silver(most of it by exploit) and still get these items. I personally farm about 20k silver a day, so when I die every 10 days or so I can re equip. While half of the people I fight are using GM armor and die in a single combo, or a few special moves. This NEEDS to be fixed for balance, make these items easier to obtain, and cursed so the originals still hold some value. The current system makes no sense at all. If any of the DEV's played SP they would realize 99% of people who PvP are factions, and this is making PvP unbearable for many.

This is the thing: a prodo shard player(yes I PvP prodo as well) can build a suit in about 60-70 minutes that he will then bless, and never lose. A siege player must farm for 300-350 minutes for the same suit that will drop when they die.

Fix this, I don't see why this was ever changed. I'm tired of fighting people in GM armor.

I have a better idea. Remove the faction items completely from Siege along with all the cursed arties from Magincia. That way I think all PVPers will have more balanced suits consisting leather armour and maybe a few ML and Paragon marties...

That way everyone can afford to replace their suit upon death very easily and still be viable on the field.

I am all for removing the faction items completely too.
The whole thing of having blessed "weapons and armour" on siege is disgusting.
I wish that faction blessed is removed from our shard.

I remember when PBD first came out, our server had a cow...
What makes the devs think we want factions to be any different?
Remove faction blessed!

Speedy, i completely agree with ya on this one. Maybe add a feature that when you kill someone you can turn the item in and get half silver, or maybe an item to purchase that will unbond the item and allow yourself to equip it. Thus giving you a good reason to kill the other person.


And for all those people who want all items off Siege. Why? i ask. Its the items in the game that make it so fun and interesting. Love the faction arties, it allows you to make many different templates and do more things. I dont want to go out and pvp the same way 90 other guys are....thats just boring to me. I want to be able to stomp someone untill it gets nerfed :)

thats just my 2 cents. highlights of the post. lower faction item cost and maybe think about creating an unbonding potion or somthing neat

I say make them normal artis not uber ones, make then cursed, and let anyone use them. That way is someone kills/loots a factioneer they get to enjoy the cursed arti bounty. That wouldnt effect anything. Weve had scads of cursed artis since the mag explosion affair a year ago.

Umm because these items in their current incarnation are directly counter to what Siege is designed around. No Insurance...

Yea you can't insure them, but they are easy enough to get and if you die and they are looted they are of no use to anyone else. One of the things that makes Siege, well Siege is that it's Economy is almost entirely player driven, and element that prodo shards really really need to get back to. By adding easily replaceable (though doubtlessly time consuming to do so), non-player generated equipment your undermining the very thing that makes Siege's economy work.


Look before these if I was to kill your toon I'd get all your gear except 1 item, now I've got a full suit or close to of armor that I can recycle for my own use. These BREAK that system now you die with a suit made up of this junk and you've lost your suit but all I can do is toss it in the trash. On the same not neither You nor I have to rely on the crafter's on Siege to produce new equipment on a consistent basis.

My Vote:

Either alter then on Siege to remove the Player Binding, or Remove then from Siege.
