Faction gear and Transferring

Can anyone tell me if I'm in Min Factions on a shard, transfer to another shard but join SL, will my faction gear transfer as well? or will I need to buy new faction gear on new shard/different faction?

It will transfer and work, once you get rank.

How about faction horses? If i join a new faction, will my old faction horse kick me off or can i still use it?

you can ride it until you get dismounted. I rode a minax horse when I was in TB for a week.
