faction balancing

So now factions have availability to really nice cheap armor and weapons.

With respect to PvP, do you have to be in factions and equipped with faction gear to even have a chance or is there anything that will balance this between faction and non-faction players?

You can build really nice suit without faction items, faction items just make it easier. Some templates benefit more from faction items then others so depends on your build also how much you lose when not using em.

The thing is, Faction DOES NOT impose an imbalancing (other than the faction aids), it simply makes suits easier to make. Me personally, i dont even use many of the items simply because my suit is so good to begin with on my mage, and i pwn totally factioned out people all the time with simply only the faction orny on (which btw doesn' really help since it puts me at 12 MR, and after 9 MR w/120 med, your kinda wasting a mod on armor but it was a free 3 mr). So like i've said all along to everyone that waffles, the good pvp'rs gained nothing from this because they already had top of the line gear and needed none of this, the lower end casual player gained the ability to make a nice suit for really cheap. So please, enlighten me where the imbalance is here? OTHER THAN the faction aids because like i've said many times, it's impossible to kill a dexer 2vs1 on 2 mages, that is using the faction aids, isn't gonna happen, ever.

Well on Siege, I only have one crafter and one character I hunt and raid with. My guild is primarily PvM but we often get slaughtered by PvP groups that are also in factions.

My perception is that faction equipped players are now much higher powered from some recent observations of how little damage they seem to take. Some of the answers in this thread indicate that may not be correct though.

To answer your question, if I join a faction then I run into problems with rezzes and heals from my guildmates. I PvP out of defense. I don't look for fights. I hate loosing an expensive suit too, on Seige. Not to mention, I suck at PvP to begin with.
