Facebook Security Breach

It was posted on the internet this am. Although they fixed the breach once it was reported, it for a period of time, allowed visitors to the site to bypass privacy settings.

I'm glad I'm not subscribed to it.

I don't put anything in Facebook, or anywhere else for that matter, that I wouldn't want floating around online. With that said, I have no qualm about having my avatar data on FB. If anyone can find me or figure out who I am through my avatar data, more power to them.

Maybe some people don't mind their personal info spread about the web/ However identity theft is a serious and rampent form of theft that can cause serious harm to your credit and financial well being. I for one think the intermingling of sl and rl on a open forum like this is inconsiderate and might even be crimal negligence on the part of the developers.

I'm not worried.

There is nothing on facebook that anyone can steal my identity with.

Unless they try to steal my friends... and truthfully... they can have some of them.

Internet stalkers don't scare me. I have enough rage in me that I await the day of attack so I can release some of it.

Find me plz.

As with everything I do online...my real life is protected. Facebook has less information about me than most of my online accounts.

LOL, I haven't figured out how to work Facebook yet.

But I don't have anything on my Facebook or Myspace that I don't want people to know.

However, I'm heavily into Genealogy and finding old classmates and have found both sites to be beneficial in those aspects.

Aside from opting to use your rl name, its not like you are putting your credit card, social security number, address or any of that important business up on facebook.

I think the award for grossest overreaction on a message forum for today should go to gamdaaf.
But its early yet, and there was a patch.. . and that amnesty thread. so its a tough call.
