I was wondering if someone can help me reproduce this thing. I remember once upon a time there being step-by-step tutorials to do the aquariums with cloth, and I saw this on Lake Superior, and had a fit over it. it's one of the nicest looking ones I've seen yet.

I'm just not too good with figuring out what to put in which order. ;) I can do it, and I will do it myself, but i'd like some kind of guide to work with. This one just looks so much nicer than the plain black bottom, black top, variegated blue.

I used to have a very similar one a few years back. I will look for the instructions I used but not sure how lucky I'll get, new PC a year ago.

I am wondering if the rectangular furs you can get would work for the very base of the Aquarium... hmmmm I think when I get home I might try to mess with one and see. If I do I will write up instructions for ya myself. If I recall you had to put the items that are "In" the tank way up to the highest point they could be raised with the deco tool. When you got all the cloth laid out and locked, I think it was just simply lowering the rocks, fish, sunken ship etc into place. I'll let ya know, I took mine down when they came out with the new ones (which need so much work its not worth it). I may even build another one for permanent display sometime =]

Oh and get yourself an origami fish! I think they would look great in the tank along with that school of small fish you have in the picture!

Oooh, that would be neat! What monsters drop the origami paper?

Thanks for the help in advance. :) I just thought this was such a nice looking aquarium!

I hear also you get a better chance at getting a fish if you fold the paper while drunk (in game, not IRL :D) It's true!

For the tank start at the west side and work east. Put down black cloth x 2 , black cloth x 2, green cloth x 2 about 14 or so times, black cloth x 2, black cloth x 2. Do this for all three tiles moving to the east.

The sand/items inside the tank are placed on the tiles directly southeast of where they will appear visually. So put down sandy colored cloth x 2 on the tile south of the second column of cloth tank, then put green onion/fish on top of it and raise it all up. Do the same for the sandy cloth/boat and then one more tile to the east the sandy cloth/rocks.

Cool thanks Sarsmi! Been a while since I made one and I could not remember but yes now it floods my mind! It isn't hard at all, has that nice classic look to it too. Saved me the time of writing this up as I am building it!

Good job! Been a while since I messed around with the old decorating ways!

Oh yah, forgot about that. I think I only ever built a cloth fishtank once, I think I did pinkish/lavender water, it was nice. :)

Oh, sweet! Thanks for the suggestions. I'll get to work on this, and will post the results when I'm done. :)

If you are really careful when you do it, you can dye the cloth items after they are placed in the appropriate areas and locked down. This way you can experiment with your tanks water colors until you are satisfied with the appearance. For that, I actually suggest you get 2-3 people to look at your completed tank with you and ask their opinions! I would keep the current color set on one dye tub so you can always revert to the original color, and have several other colors lined up in other tubs to play around with colors =]

So don't get overly hung up on the colors at first when you are constructing it! Love to see what you have done so show us when you get there!

I also forgot how difficult this construction can be without the 3D Client lol... that zoom ability came in really handy with those hard to place pieces in a lot of deco item themes. Tank wasn't too bad but other things can be a royal pain with out zoom :(
