It's been vacant (owner wise) for years with zero moderation, gets toxic kinda like the Atlantic Gen Chat in some ways lol . Unsure who created the group but clearly they left and never put someone to moderate or they left as well, it's been like that since I joined like 8 years or so ago.

It would have been a great move for the devs to have created a discord years ago
Could have reach a wider audience with updates hotfix store items on sale new pub info ect
But I guess it would be another place to moderate would need more volunteers

Why not just block or mute the people you don't care to listen to? Why do we have to control what other people say? I understand that you come from the dumpster fire forums where they lack even the most basic features of a forum, but you're talking about Discord, any feature you would want exists. Tha owner of that discord will ban you if you spam, I've seen it happen, quite a few times. What more could you ask for in a Discord moderator?

That is ridiculous. Just leave the room. If the sewer is not to your liking, leave. Simple enough.

This is the part where I'd like to make some kind of comment that the Discord channel certainly isn't the toxic positivity that some people would want it to be, but that's a hard argument to make with some of the just bizarre stuff a handful of members have been posting lately. I mean Saul Goodman's mini rant about freedom of speech alone was worthy of a timeout if only due to how wrong and ignorant it is. Let's not even start on some usernames.

With a player base with the average age that UO most likely has, I find it almost shocking the sheer lack of adults there are in the room both on the official forums and the Discord.

I'd hate to see it happen just because I find the official forums to be worthless in terms of actual discussion because of over moderation, but from a business standpoint if I was Broadsword I would attempt to take ownership of the discord channel.

Broadsword has no interest in communications from potential customers. If they did, they wouldn't limit their forum to those with active accounts.

I second Scribbles post - this is Discord server has 600+ members and does not have the negative energy as some of the other servers out there. I encourage all to consider joining, it's a great alternative.

You're right, they have zero desire to talk to their customers via Discord. I was thinking about it from a brand management angle. It's using the UO logo and positioned as "the" Discord of the official servers, but yet it is a bit of a nightmare regarding problematic language. As a company, I'd be all over getting it shut down or taken over to protect my brand image.

A large majority of pvp'ers in this game have the mental capacity of an 8 year old. It's no wonder they ruin any discord they are in if they are left unmoderated.
