Extreme lag?

Been having horrible cases of lag and loss of connection for the past few days. Very annoying.

I would suggest everyone who is having connection issues to post their tracerts to the server that they play on. (just mask out the IP of the first 2 hops if you have concerns about privacy/security).

With that info, it'll be easier for EA to identify the issue. If it's not faulty routers at EA, they can still use it to pressure their ISP into getting their upstream partners to fix it.



Having said that, from the tracerts submitted so far, it doesn't seem like an issue with EA's routers.

At the moment, threatening to boycott EA is akin to threatening to boycott the restaurant you go to - simply because one of roads leading to the restaurant is having faulty traffic signals and causing congestion. And this road is a couple of blocks away from the restaurant, which is not under the control of the restaurant.

I've recently been in contact with EA customer support.

They're asking for the following;

* Using your Internet browser on your PC, click the following link to download the UOTrace program: ftp://ftp.ea.com/pub/origin/patches/uo/uotrace.exe
* Run UOTrace. (If a pop-up box appears telling you 'UO Server List not found,' click No.)
* Click the Options menu at the top of the window and select Advanced.
* In the rectangular window where the server is listed, type in easo.ea.com.
* Click the Trace Route button, which is the fourth button from the left.
* After the trace route has completed, click the Poll button, which is two buttons to the right of the Trace Route button.
* Let it send around 100 or so packets then click Stop Poll.
* Click Edit and select Copy.
* Click the Start button (Windows button for Microsoft Windows Vista) on the Windows Taskbar.
* Select All Programs.
* Select Accessories.
* Click Notepad.
* From the menu toolbar, click Edit and click Paste.
* From the menu toolbar, click File and click Save.
* Repeat steps 2 through 14 so that you have two separate files for us to compare and review.
* Visit http://support.ea.com.

Attach the file to this incident so we can see any connectivity issues that may be present.

Same issues here, going through all those Level3.net

Ive talked to my ISP about 10 times, and emailed Level3...doubt it matters though.

Still feeling the suck and I get the feeling nobody cares. Though on the bright side there is usually a two hour period were I have no trouble, so 2 hours of play is good.

Is anyone else still having these issues? I have been speaking to many guildmates who seem to be having major issues with packet loss to the EA servers.

Still having my issue. The ea support rep said he would be forwarding it on to the network team to test the shards. that was two weeks ago. I have sent a few nasty grams and contacted a few ea ppl via stratics pm. Nothing yet.

I have detailed it as well as i could

used to ping 40-60 to gl/atlantic (east coast shards) and 85-100 to west coast shards (pac/baja) Now pinging 120+ to the east coasts, but the same to the west coasts. Have sent them trace route after trace route of the differences and similarities, yet no one seems to believe that this is a problem for me. They say that lag is reasonable, how is that reasonable..i live near east coast and have always played east coast shards.... when you pvp the slightest bit of lag hurts you, and this is major lag. Bout to move onto something else...this is rediculous =/ have closed one account and have not, and refuse to buy the expansion for any other account until this issue is addressed for me. Feel like i'm getting shoved on the back burner because i am just one person....

They release the return to britannia program and they dont help the current subscribers? You really think im going to encourage any of my friends to return to britannia in my current state? hah =(

HAHAHA look at this fricken crap, like i said, bee a month and a half of this...not only am i pinging better to west coast...IM PINGING BETTER TO EUROPA AND DRACHENFELS THAN ATLANTIC/GREATLAKES/EAST COAST SHARDS!



FOR THE LOVE OF GOD...


i dunno what more i can do to point out to support i have an issue.
