Exodus keys distribution curve

Well, you see old chump, I wouldn't be displeased if the exodus key drop distribution were to be looked upon and tweaked a wee bit by ye ol' good dev team.

Two hours in, and I got 12 keys. Half of them are altars, of which I need only one of... :p

If the distribution curve could be tweaked slightly to increase the odds of other keys dropping, it would be rather nice.
Out of those 6 altars I got, 5 will likely end up unused.

I dislike the whole key concept...and I really dislike the concept of timered keys. And yes, on one of our Encounters, we were collecting for a group of ten, and had some poof by the time we were able to get 10 of each...so we kept hunting :(

Kill the key concept, on the smaller shards you would probably find people doing Medusa,, Exodus, Travesty, etc etc more. Should be able to log in and play the game, the novelty of this has worn off, and as the UO population has aged, there is less time to spend ingame. Perhaps remove the requirement so we can play the bosses, but if someoone wants to get the keys let the party coming in with keys have a %chance increase for better loot? I dunno..

I don't have too many problems with the concept of the keys, but I'd prefer if Exodus keys would last longer than one week, since you need so many of them.
Or that the requirement to craft those bloody rites were changed. 5 taint is really hard to come by...

Also, if the other peerless keys could be crafted by players, using only materials that crafters can build, it would be pretty grand.
It would give more purpose to crafters and it would make it easier to gather keys for some shard group fun on smaller shards.

I still would like to see a turn in. Turn in some of the keys, you have to many of and get the one you need. Maybe 2 to 1 for Rite, Dagger and Robe and 3 or 4 to 1 for the altars.

it should really be 1 set of keys for a party. just like everything else. that being said, the keys arent that hard to get. ignore the low fame stuff, just kill the hardest monsters. their drop rate is very good. AI dexter kills very fast. just be careful of blood oath.

Balance in what you get would be AWSOME, otherwise all is fine. Perhaps weigh the alters more and the other MUCH less for drops

Drop rate is rather fine, yes. The only problem is the distribution of the key drops you get. It should be far more balanced.
I did some more hunting and I got another 4 rites, another 5 altars and one robe, so I have 1 full set of keys, despite having 22 keys...

Get rid of the timers so people can do these bosses on their schedule, no more "Oh, $#!^ Gotta go do this NOW or I've wasted x number of hours!" Contrary to Kyronix's belief that this would somehow invalidate the content, as keys would still need to be gathered to enter an encounter, it would not only enhance the playability of said content, but *gasp* make players happy. That's win-win.

It would also have the tertiary benefit of making the drop distribution of Exodus keys less odious, though they should still be tweaked... :p

This is the idea we have been talking about with our hunting group.
Make it 2 of the others for the one you want/need, and you are good to go in no time.
On a different note:
Last night we went into Exodus dungeon with 10 People and we got 93 keys in 45 minutes.
We used the suggested method in another thread of using 2 provokers, and the rest area attack casters/dexers to kill everything. Important that everyone gets some damage on the high chance key droppers, that way you sometimes get 3 or 4 drops on one kill.
The key distribution was pretty even: We got 20 keys of each at least (27 altars though) so we could go and kill Exodus twice.

It was Frarc who suggested the above method.

The best average gathering rate we used to get solo was about ten keys per hour using a bard or a really uber sammy/whammy/whatevery type, but most people would average far fewer. Using Frarc's method last night it averaged at thirteen keys per hour for ten people. So thanks to him for that.

I find with most of the peerless bosses it takes us longer to get the keys than the actual fight itself. I prefer fights I just just turn up and start rather than mess about with keys. Navrey, slasher for example.

Not too easy to get a group at Legends to go hunt for the keys, though. :)
I average 6 to 10 keys per hour, depending on the rng mood, and since I don't kill Dupre's people with my dexxers due to karma. That is fine for me, and usually gets my bushido paladin dexxers to glorious lord fame level, which is then sacrificed as soon as possible.
I like hunting down there quite a lot. But the key drop distribution is odious and really unbalanced.

Making the keys last a month or more would allow me to host shardwide peerless runs from time to time as well, which would be very fun.
Sadly, I only have time to play on weekends, and when I log back the next one, the keys would be almost gone.
