Everyone needs to chill out

Getting tired of everyone freaking out, getting mad or upset because of some of the things that are happening right now.. Not to mention the many others that are yelling 'Im going to cancel my account'...

This is how i see things ok.. lol

I know things are rough right now, Im not saying they arnt. Look at how things were in game before years ago as well as before the merges. The economy was out of control (with that old bug that made many people billions). Most of the citys were all almost dead. Me and others often quit and came back because the game became so boring at times. Yea some may say it was better then but look at how it is now...

We have awesome devs who have brung new life into this game. We can make custom content now, plus we will be able to make more! And everyone is actually socializing. We are all in one city now, which I really love because Im one of the ones who really only played in one city. And have really enjoyed meeting other sims from other citys that I would have probally never met before. We have tons of new players, which I admit alot of them can be rude and annoying. But i love most of them, newbies are so cute and yes i have found some new players that have been very friendly, helpful and many that have actully subscribed. (I have even met one newbie that kind of considers me his mentor because im the first person he has met. Even though he probally wont become a paying player, hes still a nice person and fun to hang out with).

Yea, I know we got alot of bugs and some people think that the bug report emails are not being read, But I have talked to the devs in town hall and I know it may take them awhile to get to all of them (just look how many players we have now and all this with the merge does cause some unexpected bugs) but they will read them one by one. And the devs do actually take there time to help us with our problems (some of you probably dont believe this, but there are so many people playing now, its hard for them to get to everyone!) So just give them some time to get everything straightened out, Things will get better! I know this for a fact.

I play the game to have fun and be with my friends. I think thats what it should be about. I have one friend who recently lost one of his mystic trees because of lag, and he pretty much just shrugged it off. (i really hope he did send in a bug report though! lol) He didnt freak out and yell 'Im gonna cancel my account' or 'This game sucks'. Hes one of the ones like me, who love this game and keep playing because he has awesome friends.

This game is being worked upon consistently. They know about the skill locks being messed up and all the other bugs. The devs cannot drop everything they are currently working on to fix one thing. They will go down the huge list of bugs and fix everything bit by bit. I bet you in a few months (hopefully sooner) the prices in shops will drop and store owners can actually stock jams that they bought in catalog themselfs, for a good price. And everything will be better.

So people, please chill out, enjoy spending time with your friends and have fun!

Everyone needs to stay positive and embrace all the changes that are coming our way! The game is fun and exciting again. If you liked the money filled old TSO, then go play offline Sims were you can use cheats to have a huge house with a lot of cash. The game is going into a new era and I for one am excited and extremely greatful for the wonderful development team we have

I agree that people need to stop with all the complains but i also agree that it has become harder to play the game which i dont mind because its a challenge but it is also ridicolus that you have to work for days just to be able to buy just a house, hopefully it gets fixed or better till then ill just deal with it

I think its important that the devs get feedback on game changes - both positive and negative. If negative feedback is given constructively it will invariably get better results.

Patience is all we need, and the game will soon have its bugs worked out. If anyone has a problem with that, point them to the login screen where it says: "EA Land (BETA)". BETA is all it takes to see that the game is far from complete, and its obvious with the frequent updates that the devs are hard at work. Gotta give them time, its not like everyone at Maxis/EA is working on it

ok, ok.......i agree constant negativity isnt necesarilly constructive, but you say that the bugs are being worked on.... well ive news for you. The devs obviously think that the bugs we encounter in game arent as important as screwing with the economy.
With all the bugs they need to work on, you would think they could find something better to do than to make people complain more by upping prices of goods and lowering payouts.
Surely the time to do that sort of thing if they feel they need to is once people are happy with the basic product.
Really, if you think about it, the devs are asking for complaints in the way they are prioritizing their "improvements" to the game

At least by sharing opinions on things that are wrong, you have an opportunity for the devs to hear and possibly do something about it. By keeping quiet, they might never realise.

After all, devs only 'play' under controlled circumstances most of the time, giving themselves the skills and money they need to do whatever it is they're testing. They won't have years of experience of playing for hours a day the real way that many actual players (paying and free) have.

Ea needed to do something to get the game under control again...
but i think they've went too areas that should not have been touched first... they should have touched the stores first with dropping their prices so people could buy stuff cheaper than hit the payouts afterwards...
But as we all can see it didnt go that way... they messed with the payouts first so your too broke to buy anything as it is......I pizza'd last night with my 4 accounts and highly skilled i remind you and barely made 300.00 because of all of the 0.00 payouts for over worked penaltys ... so tell me why people shold not complain.... come too think about it... they should have just did a update with everything done completely,, instead of implementing things in here and there too make it harder for us...and they have not even touched the skills part of it... if its going to be harder too make money they should make it easier to skill...
I am a return player ... i took a 2 year vacation so i have seen what the game was like before so dont think i do not know what im talking about...

Take a month or so brake (well still paying, lol), but never leave for good.

I agree with you. The game is still in beta and we know there are going to be issues. The problem I see is while pricing it out of control, payouts keep going down. I was one of those who posted something saying I am thinking of switching to a free account. I haven't since I love this game. I would rather have people here venting and getting some sympathy than them cancel their account thus losing the game money in the long run.

If they would either lower costs on everything or increase payouts, then I think alot of people would be able to put up with the bugs in the game. It is getting too hard to build a property, keep it open and feed everyone. Mind you, I am not suggesting payouts go back to what they were before. Just increase them so people can see something is being done to help us out in game.

When you stop spewing your venom so that no longer has the potential to affect the positive outlook of other players then and only then will it be a matter of 'you play your way, I'll play mine'. Your rights to do that end where mine begin and when your 'style of gameplay' affects mine then it darn well is mine and everybody else's business. You accuse other players who are positive of having their heads in the sand, well we think SOME (not all) of the habitual complaining comes from nothing more than sour grapes, and way more damage is done from mass negativism than mass positivism, so if I have to pick the lesser of two evils, I'll pick the latter. I agree. Theres a big difference in constructive (calm) complaints and whining. I think the whole process is kind of interesting to watch, but in general, people seem to get waaay overheated on forum issues and take them more personally. I may not agree with everything the devs have done thus far, but we ARE still in beta, and until they say "We're leaving it this way, take it or leave it" I'm keeping my hope.

I think its also important to keep in mind that we may not know their entire plan or why they did what they did. I couldn't even pretend to understand all of the technicalities associated with game bugs, or how they are dealt with. I'm going to at least give the devs a chance before I start ranting about how horrible the whole game is.

I agree I mean honestly this is BETA for a reason! We are supposed to be helping the Dev team out and telling them the bugs and not constantly complaining because things arent going 100% perfect. If my 5 years of TSO and online gaming in general has taught me anything its that things will NEVER be 100% perfect, the game is always changing. Im sure very soon all of the major bugs will be worked out and things will begin to run smoother for most people but I for one love the challenge of making the money the way it is right now. Though ill be the first to admit this will get old quick if it stays this way for a very long period of time im enjoying it now and im sure its just to slowly ease the economy back into transition. People forget how many bots there are out there and all it takes is a couple of idiots to re-ruin this game for everyone. To those that are complaining just enjoy the ride and for those of you who are taking it in stride like myself glad to see some intellectual gamers out there

[/ QUOTE ]I agree with you - to a point. Yes, constructive criticism is good, as it provides valuable feedback to something that isn't working as expected. However, there's a difference between providing constructive criticism (and trying to be part of the solution), and incessantly whining, going around every thread proclaiming "this sucks, that sucks, such-and-such game is sooo much better than this one".

Constructive criticism helps maintain a rapport with the developers. Incessant whining just encourages the developers to tune us out as a whole, and it also discourages anyone from wanting to try out the game. In the end, people who stand on the front porch engaging in constant, self-centered whining will do far more damage to the game than those who just quietly pack up and sneak out the back door.
