The Events Council of Oceania is finally up and running with the successful completion of our Scavenger Hunt. A small but enthusiastic group assembled at ECO headquarters to receive their instructions.
To register the contestants had to receive an ECO cloak made by ECO Scavenger and were asked to wear the cloak as they completed their tasks. To kick the event off the contestants were taken to the roof of ECO headquarters where they were given access to a wooden crate to obtain a book which contained their clues. Then it was pandemonium as the contestants scattered to all parts of the known world in search of their clues.
The hunt was to be completed within an hour and a half. Items could be gathered in any order and by whatever means was available to them. Some would have been stored in houses and castles, some had to be bought and others claimed as loot from creatures in the wild. The list was divided into three sections:
First section was a straight list of items.
Second section was a set of anagrams and riddles for the contestants to decipher
Third section was a mini quest.
The ECO library was constantly in use as was the airwaves of the Chat Channel. ECO members were on hand at all times and could be contacted via the Help Channel. During the Hunt ECO Headquarters was graced by a visit from EM Dexter, who called in to see how the event was progressing. Very pleasing indeed.
As the closing time was drawing near, contestants returned to ECO Headquarters with their loot. The winner of the 5 million GP was Lord Ascot D'Scar who was very excited and surpised to win and receive his prize. All those who were in attendance at the conclusion of the event were given an entry into a raffle to be drawn at a later date - with 1.5 million as prize money.
The ECO Committee of management would like to thank both Isaac and Quinva for their generous donations toward the prize pool.
Thanks everyone, and we will see you all again when we host our next event.
