Taryn grasped at the gentle hand Donal placed on her shoulder like a lifeline as she struggled to contain her fears. Her mind wanted to race off down a dozen dark alleys but she knew that she had to try to be calm if she had any hope of reaching the end of this journey she and Caryn had set upon with her sanity in tact.
"What does this all mean Donal?" Taryn asked quietly. "Where is Caryn? She cannot have just vanished. It's not like her to be gone this long. I'm truly worried that something has happened to her. And to make matters worse, now it seems this Pirate, this Captain Barbossa, is set on causing havoc all over the lands. I heard news that he stole a shipment of cargo and blockaded it in Cove. Surely there cannot be two Pirate Captains named Barbossa? What is he up to? Why isn't he out seeking this Artifact?"
Donal sat quietly, holding Taryn's hand and listening as Taryn followed her thoughts. He knew from experience that the best way to find answers was to follow the path wherever the questions led. He only hoped in his heart that the answers would prove happy ones for the girl he thought of as the closest thing to a daughter he'd know in this lifetime.
"Do you know anything else of our parents?" Taryn asked Donal with tears in her eyes. "Anything that might give more answers? Anything at all that might help me find Caryn?"
Donal shook his head sadly as he said, "My dear, if I had any other answers, I swear to you, I'd tell you. You know all that I do. I know that you are often perplexed with me and I seem a bit absent minded, but I promise you now, I don't know anything further. Your mother had the same spark of deep magic that you possess and your father was a bit of a rogue. But they both loved you and Caryn more than life and wanted only for you to be safe."
"It just seems that every time an answer is revealed, more questions come along with it," Taryn mused softly. "I don't understand why Barbossa hasn't shown himself before, or where the other pieces of this artifact are hidden. I've combed through all the books in the library and I know that we did in fact find the Star Alignment Tool which is one of the pieces but there are two more and I have no idea where to start even looking. And the biggest question of all right now to me - Where is Caryn?"
Taryn and Donal sat in silence for a few more moments while Taryn pondered all that she knew, and all that she didn't. Suddenly, she had an idea...
Looking at Donal, Taryn said, "Something has been bothering me for weeks now. Something that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I wonder..."
Taryn stood quickly with determination, "Perhaps there IS someone who knows more about all this. Maybe he could lead us to Caryn? Or have some idea what has happened to her? Bartenders hear everything don't they? Especially bartenders in a pirate town!"
Donal stood quickly almost knocking over his chair as he exclaimed, "Taryn you cannot go traipsing off to Buc's Den! That's no place for a lady on her own!"
Taryn's shoulders slumped, "I know Donal. You are right. But I have to find out what I can. Perhaps...perhaps someone else could seek out Andrew? At least I can go check on my other theory for now..."

Gather what information you can starting with Andrew in Buc's Den in Trammel. Ask Andrew if he knows anything more about Captain Barbossa. Then, meet Taryn Sullivan Saturday night, June 26th at 6 p.m. PST/9 p.m. EST, at the West Britain Counselor's Guild to pool whatever information you and she are able to uncover.
