How do you dye these? Because for some reason i can't dye mine. And i have seen them all different colors. I tried using the shadow dye but no luck

If it's a ToT book i used stain on my blackish one either neutral or metal can't remember ,it came out a lighter gray so i can now see it in my backpack
The Invasion Spellbooks can be dyed using the craftable plant dyes.
