11/14/2019 – After having helped Keith lay claim to the honor flag of the Brothers in Arms, Keith once one requested assistance from the rangers. Some time ago, after chasing many threads, Keith discovered the primary headquarters of the Viper Gang, the group mainly responsible for the production and distribution of dream venom. However, Keith had discovered them only after searching for answer to lingering questions that continued to haunt him. This ultimately led him to call the rangers to help him storm the Viper Gang’s hideout, so that they vanquish them and, hopefully, uncover answers.

Not longer after the rangers arrived, did the group travel through the jungles to the Viper Gang’s headquarters, nestled in a valley in the Dragonhame mountains. The rangers were able to vanquish the thugs easily enough, as well as a nearby dragonflight that had been roused by the commotion. As the dust settled, the group found several books and letters in what appeared to have once been quarters of Rankin, the rogue mage that had died alongside Hook months prior. Among these scattered pieces of information, Keith was able to put some of the final pieces of the puzzle together: Hook, who had been the captain of the Bootyful Bastards pirate crew that Keith had once infiltrated, had betrayed his crew and allowed them to die in order to take up an offer from Rankin to command the Viper Gang and take over the Guild of Thieves. Rankin, for his own part, had made dealings with the mysterious “Alchemist”, a wanderer of the Realm of Dreams, who provided him with formulae for the dream venom. This drug required a rare ingredient known as Shalathian spice, which had become difficult for Rankin to acquire, yet despite this the person that he served insisted on the continued production of the stuff using money acquired from Hook’s piracy. Though Rankin did not completely understand, he was vaguely aware that some under the influence of dream venom reported hearing a “voice”. Finally, there was a letter among the possessions from an unknown sender requesting that the Viper Gang send back one of their agents, a gargoyle known as Forskis who was responsible for carrying gold to the cathedral in Britain, to murder a man named Feridwyn that had discovered a secret he should not have known.

Satisfied that Keith better understood the moves of the actors behind the stage, he and the rangers traveled to Britain to visit the cathedral, discovering to everyone’s shock that where once the Fellowship’s glorious cathedral once stood was now only rubble and ruin. Nearby, Batlin and his followers gazed upon the once-magnificent sight. Batlin explained that the cathedral had been destroyed by a traitorous gargoyle called Forskis, who along with another rogue priest named Rankin had been engaging in criminal activity under the nose of the Fellowship for close to a year. Batlin claimed he was only able to root our their conspiracy after the tragic death of Feridwyn, but as soon as Forskis had become cornered, he had set off explosives hidden within the construction of the cathedral in order to make his escape. Batlin implored the rangers to hunt down the notorious gargoyle, who had fled into the passes of Wind.

From there, the rangers embarked upon a journey through the Serpents Spine to find the elusive assassin, and after a chase through the passes he was finally cornered and captured alive. The rangers returned him to a newly built prison in Britain, however some of the rangers noticed that the guards appeared to be members of the Fellowship themselves, as they both wore Fellowship medallions. The fate of Forskis would remain unclear.
