7/23/2019 – After having conducted a thorough search of the Viper Gang’s venom production lab the rangers had assaulted, Abigail discovered notes describing the formula of the venom. While several of the ingredients were familiar to her, one of the ingredients, Shalathian spice, was not something she had ever heard of. She decided to send the rangers to seek out their old merchant friend, Nico Radu, to see if he had a way of acquiring the substance.
Upon finding the merchant, Nico told the rangers he could indeed find the spice, despite it being exceedingly rare and not native to Sosaria. Naturally, he would only be willing to do such a thing if the rangers were willing to make a deal, which they reluctantly accepted. Nico, who had long been searching for an old prophecy once told by his ancient ancestor Morganna, had found worked out a way to come closer to his goal and in doing so, sent the rangers to find and assist Skitz the Exile with his desire. Skitz, who had been hiding ever since the Royal Guard had killed his father, “The Rat King”, in their search for the mysterious black stones, which resulted in an illegitimate seizing power and attempting to have Skitz killed, though he was spared by the rangers. Now, Skitz asked the rangers to help him recover the so-called Škripavac Crown, the ancestral crown of his royal lineage, with which he could prove the legitimacy of his claim as Big Rat King. The rangers, willing to help, followed Skitz to an enemy ratman camp where he had learned the crown had been held.
As soon as Skitz was able to recover his crown, he led the rangers to his rat cave to confront the illegitimate king, and with the rangers’ help was able to reclaim the throne. Having fulfilled their end of Nico’s deal with Skitz, the newly crowned rat king dug an old map out of the trash pile, which showed the location of an ancient, hidden gypsy burial ground.
Led by Nico, the rangers helped the merchant locate the burial ground while fending off restless spirits while he excavated the graves until he found a partial manuscript containing a fragment of Morganna’s prophecy. Despite only being a fragment, he seemed satisfied with his find and let the rangers go after they chose one of his wares.
