[Bowcraft/Fletching] Evaluating crafted bows

I did a search here and didn't see anything in 4 months worth of results... so I thought I'd try again.

I need to get a very specific heavy xbow... but I'm hoping I'll have numerous other "good" bows that I can sell while I'm trying to craft THE bow.

How do you evaluate what a bow is worth?

Specifically, what bows are worth crafting? I know there is always a market for a heavy X-bow. But what other bows are sought?

Aside from SSI, how would you rate desired mods? What are PvM mods? What are PvP mods?

Lastly, how do you price your bows? While I'm on Pac, I'll listen to any answer.

For example, what makes a bow worth 1M? 5M? 10M?

Head to the Warrior forums. Over there is a thread called "A good bow has..." Plenty of discussion there on what makes a good bow.

would just like to add you may want to wait till SA is released as this will have a huge impact on value and craftability etc but if you are bound and determaned to do it now do as Caelas said and go to warrior forum and look at post there

My larger confusion is how to price bows out. I don't want to prices bows so high they don't go anywhere. OTOH, I don't want to underprice so bad that I'm making someone else money

You fall into the trap all runic crafters do: What do you do with the "leftover" items from a runic kit, i.e. - the non-keepers?

There is no such thing as "too low" - you either want to sell the item or you do not. What did it really "cost" you to make, other than hours of HW questing ? Did you get a keeper from your runic flecther tool? If so, then you already got your reward. If you are an archer, and do not keep the bow you just made, why do you think someone else would consider it a "keeper" and pay an outrageous price...

I used to run a very lucrative bow shoppe in Luna, and all I sold were enhance bows mainly from Swoop. When I made a bow and did not keep for my own archer, I would ask myslef how much would I pay for this bow if I didn't have a similar or better one? THEN i would drop last figure A bow worth 300K I would price at 30K - and guess what, my vendors were constantly empty - except for millions in gold

Yes, I saw many of my items for "resale" on vendors at 10X what I charged, but week after week I would still see them

All the above was true "before" SA expansion. Now SA is weeks away and runic crafted weapons will DECREASE in price very MUCH! IF I was you, I would craft in regular wood then label item as "Imbuable". Better yet, I would wait a couple weeks then use kit and imbue myself
