Hello,
first of all: yes, I heard you all solo dreadhorn with ease but I am new to this so please be patient with me and my questions :) :

I finally found the right setup to gather the keys for dreadhorn without lots of troubles. Since I made this beautiful 100 poison radiant scimitar and imbued it with the usual.
I should say that may warrior template still has no bushido but has healing, i simply cant live without it, sorry. I do run vamp form though and irk (if no other named one around) is not a problem.

So, finally got the keys to dread, went home and set out to go, I packed the usual pots and THEN realized that I won´t be able to cure DHs lethal poison with pots, well i will still try it with healing but my question remains:

How on earth do you Sampires survive a fight against DH when you cannot use cure pots and have no other real way of curing the lethal (unless "cleanse by fire" works on this?) ????

Could it be, that you simply dont cure the poison and wait until it wears off hoping to leech enough in between poison ticks? Or are you constantly using lesser poison pots on yourself so you cannot be lethal poisoned by DH?

Any answer would be very helpful,
thank you....

Since you have healing, use bandages.

I never cured the poison, the life I was leeching was far more than the damage I was getting so my bar would look green most of the time but always full.

But since you have no bushido thus not being able to use perfection through honor, I would say you are lacking in the damage output department which determines how much life you leech. Not to mention the use of evasion, confidence, momentum, counter etc....

I think so too:

The lack of busdhido decreases the damage output so imensly, that you are not able to leech enough life back to live through the poison (a sampire in close combat does not need cure....he/she leeches enough to survive any type of poison).

thank you very much for your helpful replies!

I should say that I tried DH right after I wrote the above and I am afraid I don´t stand a chance. It wasnt the poison - my big concern - that got me funny enough. Dreadhorn simply hit me too often for too many hitpoints, and I wasnt hitting often enough (even with max HCI) although the leeching seemed fine to me (meaning when I got a hit in the life bar was full).

So I guess I will give Bushido a try - also for the defense.

Could you please answer me one thing:

are you using heal pots or refresh pots non stop on top of leeching or only when needed? Cause I thought bush/parry requires a 2 handed weap to be most effective.

And secondly: when you cast evasion and confidence its hard to tell for me which one is still active and when to recast cause they both dont show in the buff bar and the message you get is overlooked easily with lots going on.
For example when I cast confidence the spell symbol goes red, but when I cast evasion right after this the evasion symbol is red now. So no way to tell if confidence is still active.

Also I sometimes see people spamming *evades* non stop. I thought there is a timer? Or are they basically "putting a golf ball on their macro key :)" to spam it non stop so it will kick in when timer is over?

Thank you!

None, always have mana and stamina leech on weapons. No need for pots

I use the little icons and when the red wears off, I know its not active. Also, out of confidence, evasion and counter you can only have one active at one time. That is where your tactics come in to figure out the best time to keep a stance active.

If you're getting hit too much make sure you have :
120 Weapon Skill
45 DCI
HLA on your weapon
... this should be all that's needed.

hmm, strange. I do have 120 weapon skill, 45 HCI and DCI and 40 HLA so maybe simply bad luck?
Maybe I need HLA AND HLD ? (and sacrifice DI on weap)
Will rework my suit a little I guess and give it another try before I go the bush way....
Thanks

Dread horn does do a couple special moves which do pretty big damage.

Just don't forget your swamp dragon.
And a weapon with feint, if you get bushido skill. Feint makes Dread Horn really simple.

And I have a healing/necromancy/bushido/fencer, and I still use potions about twice in every fight, for when the DH gets lucky and hits me several times in a row. Or if I miss several times in a row.
