Enhancing

Hi all have always been confused by the way enhancing works, and am really just after slightly lower requirements for a valorite heater shield hc1 15 dci 13 fc1 4 1 3 3 3, is there any way of knowing what the chances of losing the shield are using gold to enhance or should i just stick with dull copper and gor for the 20% lr? and help would be greatly appreciated

Regardless of the material, your Legendary Smith holding a +60 ASH has about a 20-25% chance of success.

If its already Valorite you can not enhance it with another metal type. You can only enhance iron.

I've always found trying to enhance using gold on armor to be much harder compared to other ores.
