I’ve been playing a very long time… seen a lot of nice little rares come and go. My favorite is when we get our own character names on items. Makes it more personal. You know. No offence to the staff… I really don’t care to collect staff named items. Unless you know the staffer in question… then you may want to collect the name. Otherwise, our names rule for us.
I was very happy to learn we were getting our player character names on the jack-o-lanterns this year! Little did I know… day after day after day… I would never see my main character name on one. I posted ads, offered rewards, networked the best I could. Still no dice. Out of all my guy’s names… I was only looking for one, Lady Frany Flame. I logged her in every single day of the event… multiple times… traveled all over Atlantic. Visited with friends, went shopping, and to my horror… even bank-sat as I watched movies. Still nothing.
I know I’m not alone with this problem. Being one of the big collectors of these JoLs, we posted our massive lists every day we collected… in the networking, we were on the look out for our friends names. We returned as many as possible. Promoted special vendors. NOW we have houses full of so many JoLs!! It's unreal. So many names that make me think either we have NPC names on them… vendor names… or even other players from other shards. Some names so generic, it's shameful. My own names… I got all my crafters and plant growers that did nothing other then log in for a few mins every day. The big names? Forget it. After another couple days of having my massive list posted, the whole lot will see vendors… then before Christmas I’ll have no choice other then throwing them away.
I honestly feel that this whole venture could have been better thought out before it went live. Maybe, just maybe… I can get a staffer’s attention and some notes can be made for next year. The graphics of these JoLs are too cool to go to waist!
How about next year…
We have a quest that anyone can do…
That lasts longer then 10 mins…
That involves a little brainpower and effort…
The reward…
How about a nice 1 time use only pumpkin carving kit?
It's that easy! EvErYoNe WiNs!!!
Less storage issues… less server memory issues. Maybe even less lag?
And please, please, please, please… dump the old Trick or Treat “rares” that no one wants from years past. I lost on every front this year and that was another issue.
