I do not see why it needs to be ended.

Anyone who has had enough of it can simply stop discarding items and be done with it leaving to other players who may still want to discard their items to make good use of it....

Or perhaps allow the always returning players to always make good use of it........

I mean, I really do not see why it should be ended. The Clean UP Britannia I do not think was intended for players to make gold off of the reward items since they were no longer redeamable...........the main purpose of the program, I think, is to allow discarding items (hence the name "clean up"......). Therefore, there really is no reason to end it.

That's how I see it.

Gonna be difficult to end it now that they've come up with the rotating dyes idea. I just want them to turn the Cavern of the Discarded back on, yeah some people will get a few freebie points here and there, but aside from a few people, the vast majority of the stuff to be thrown away for big points has been done, so what might people get? A few "junk" artifacts? T-Maps? *shrug*

I should have tested that Trash Chest again,
to see if it would give the message:
"Appraise for Cleanup"

- and it did.
Sorry 'bout that folks .. :blushing:

- - can't I get anything right? = :dunce:
(guess that stirred up a few people)

well it should have been obvious this isn't going to end anytime soon, as they will be changing out the 4 new Dyes (each month) hopefully they change out more than just them dyes in the near future though.

but I do think this should remain a permanent system, as long as the items get changed out every so often, just to keep it interesting.

1.) Exactly what shard is ALT?
2.) What is a "Trunin"?

Its written in stone. Turn-ins is the new gold sink/currency and EA money maker. Its not going anywhere. New item releases will be to the turn-in menu.

I can see the offering now.....UO Store listings to sell us trade-in points.

- - are you just that eager to correct people on obvious typos?
I agree Gospel: No need to :twak: WACK anyone for typos - - and many don't. Figuring out exactly what hon meant was easy. I should know because I've become such an expert at editing and re-editing so many of my own typos, that in comparison, hon's are non-existant!

1. What have dyes got to do with the importance of the brit clean up (and I can't remember how I was getting those dyes which I think are the ones that were dropping into my pack occasionally for some reason .. (sorry -showing the :dunce: side of me )- - and
2. What does it mean when you say "items get changed out every so often to keep it interesting?" <<that sounds very interesting but I don't quite understand. So I am missing something .. (*as usual)

The Brit Clean up being still in existance is going to be very handy for folks like myself .. litterly litterbugs

- - now, while also trying to find answers to those questions .. it is time to start some serious - - never ending .. never done -- ugh -- house-cleaning ...

Some people still have 80,000,000 points to dispose off. Good thing it is on.

I just bought that purple bard suit. All 4 pieces for 2 million.

I think a perma- clean-up is fine, except that it's been hard to find T-maps on player vendors lately. I often wonder how much of that is from players either dumping them directly for points, or buying them from vendors just to dump them. Either way, it's been a bit of a dry-spell for my T-Hunter.

Back on topic, though, I think the more stuff they leave in permanently (in this case, of course, referring to the "clean up" stuff) the more things players will have to do for variety.

You are Right on Topic and have hit a subject that bothers me intensely and is the reason why my vendors are empty in the Luna Shop .. the buying and reselling at high gouging prices by the other vendors. I play for fun and used to be able to leave hundreds of T-maps on my vendors for T-hunters to buy cheap. Same with my Scribe items. Gave up trying to supply players with cheaper items they need via vendors when other were buying my work to resell for high prices. etc etc etc ..

I do believe T-maps do not belong on the list of items for Brit Clean Up! I get tons of T-maps. So why should I be disposing T-maps for points when T-hunters need them? And like you say, others exploit them to get UO GOLD to sell to UO Customers from some outside website for real US$$$ .. that might be all off topic but is also very tangled up with the topic - -

Relax, enjoy the game and have fun where you can find it .. one alone can't correct all the wrongs .. hmm.. a musician could write a song about that ..

on the tmap issue, they should have given points for completed tmaps only, or at the very least give more points for completed versus incomplete.

Why completed maps have less value. You would get more if you completed it and turned it all in but people don't want to do that.

It seems there was a bug in the first few days of the clean up that did allow certain people to get millions of points very very easy. I have exact info what it was, but only from a second hand and after it was fixed.
If that info is true, maybe the best solution for the devs was to make that event permanent to give everyone equal chances at the items.

Now there's a solution: ( - - but is it a good one?)
Completed T-maps only for Turn-Ins? That would stop the littering with completed T-Maps.

Of course that would make the original T-maps more valuable too .. to be completed for turn-in points so the original T-maps become more expensive because Vendors would want to charge gouging prices for them still .. thus no one could sell them cheap ...

- - goes back to the original idea .. no T-maps for turn-in points please.

1. What have dyes got to do with the importance of the brit clean up
They are high-cost items in new colors (which over the course of UO's lifespan has been one of many driving issues for the playerbase). They are also a consumable item with a benefit, so their importance is that they help remove a lot of ingame "chaff" either in terms of items or gold in exchange for a consumable item.

2. What does it mean when you say "items get changed out every so often to keep it interesting?"
By changing out the reward items in an ingame system (not just the Clean Up system), you keep that system fresh and attractive to the player base.

When the same items are given out as rewards for an extended period, especially if said rewards are permanent (decorative) or semi-permanent (artifacts), the game becomes saturated with those items and their desirability goes down noticeably. Cycle them out for new items and the system becomes fresh and new again. I think one of the only systems that has retained its interest level to any real degree has been the Ant quests due to the Bag of Sending being a very useful item, but one that the bags and powders are consumed and have to be replaced.

They should leave it on. Clean Up Britannia should be a permanent part of UO. Just like the Community Collections...

I don't want to see my houses filled up again with useless items...ever.

It's nice being able to turn them in and know that there is a nest egg/reward being built up.

I think that the only way to punish those who farm million of points with bug is to make those new Clean Britannia items NOT tradable.

Meaning it's account bound for the ones who claimed it.

That will solve the crying problem I guess.
