In my sneaking around last night I came across a house with a couple of folks inside talking about what a horrible idea it was to make a Siege player a Siege EM. And that "It looks like GIL has their own personal EM now."
I personally have always believed that EMs should be regulars on the shards they EM and a part of the regular player community. Of course there is the issue of favoritism and abuse that can come into play, but I just don't see that as a risk that can be overcome by the EM not being a EM on their home shard. On prodo transfers make that glaringly obvious.
Why I believe a Siege home sharder EM is not only a good thing but a GREAT thing. Siege is a very unique community. The shard regulars that have been here for many years, are a very strong community at the core whether friends, rivals, or like myself more independent. We all eventually interact with each other in one way or another. Over the years these interactions, rivalries and friendships forged a very tight knit group of folks.
As far as GIL or any other guild now having their own personal EM, I just don't see that happening as I am sure it is something that is a concern and will be watched. Love GIL or hate GIL they are the largest most organized guild on Siege and do a lot for the shard. If the EM creates events that most folks enjoy, by sheer numbers alone most of those folks will be GIL guild members
To say that will be catering to GIL is just nonsense. It is part of the EM's job to do things that appeal to the broadest number of people.
