Dasha stood alone in the dimly lit throne room quietly looking at the marble coffin. She still could not fathom that her friend of so many years was gone forever. Part of her expected Dawn to come walking into the room at any moment brushing the grass off her skirt and laughing at some silly antic of Sherry's or mulling over some petition that needed to be dealt with. Dasha could not believe that she would never again catch Dawn's eye and share a secret grin at some private joke nor stand by her side in battle as they fought together.

Suddenly becoming aware of a scratching sound, Dasha turned her gaze downward to where Sherry crouched forlornly.

"What will we do now Dasha?" Sherry asked in a small, quivering voice, "She tried so hard. She never asked to be Queen but she loved the people and she cared so much. Even when she was beyond exhaustion, even as she worried so much about Ors, she never gave up trying to protect those she loved and do what was right for them."

Dasha crouched down and placed her battle worn hand gently on Sherry's head. "We remember Sherry. We always remember. We will do what is necessary to see Dawn to her final rest. We will pray for happier times for her now and we will shed our tears. One day, we will laugh at the memories. But, for now, we will do what we have to and take care of our friend."

Sherry curled close to Dawn's coffin for a moment and, through her tears, said softly, "Yes, Dasha, we will take care of our friend and we will never forget."

After a few moments of silence, Dasha and Sherry made their way sadly from the throne room. Each could not help but wonder what the coming days would hold and whether the light would ever shine on the lands again as it once had.

Funeral arrangements are still being planned and will be announced as soon as they are finalized. However, the Monk's have completed their preparations and the Queen lies in state in the throne room at Castle British should any wish to pay their respects.
