The pet shivered as he realized he had forgotten once again to wear his cloak. Looking back, he cursed at himself for ever taking a shelter in this cold, damp cave. But, he had made his pact with the demon and there was no turning back now. If only that fool Casca has lived up to his potential. Enough of that now, the pet muttered to himself. Worry about your skin when you deliver this news. Bloody council!
Approaching the faint glow, he knew what was waiting around the corner. For a moment, he considered making a run for it. Alas, he knew very well that it would be in vain for his very soul was now bound to the demon. But, that knowledge only made him shiver more.
Turning the corner, he was surprised to find the great room filled with a strange mist. The light emitting from the rift that he knew was somewhere in the mist gave it an unnatural glow.

In fact, one of them is quite capable of derailing these negotiations. Consider yourself fortunate that you might still be of some use to me. Now, leave and do not return till you are summoned!
Bowing his head, the pet grovelled his way out. Glad to still have his skin (literally), he was surprised to feel a tinge of jealousy at the mention of others like him.
