It would be nice. Our EM is not allowed to post messages at the forums only her bosses can do that so it not likely we will hear anything from her. When I saw the UO Hall post about the event I was off like a shot to New Haven only to see he was gone, the event on Sonoma must have been done a long time before that first post at UO Hall.
I would rather attend such events as this then go to some sort of V day, St Patty's Day event. Events such as that are a real bore, but something that has a story line with the new king thing I love to attend, at least its some real role play action there with killing monsters and protecting the weak.

Your best bet(comething i keep forgetting to do!)is regularly check in at the councillers hall in brit, apparantly there were 2 shields there with the info.
Do town criers announce EM events anymore? I knew in the past on Atlantic the town criers would do something to alert people that an event was happening without having to say "News", then about 30 minutes before the event they would announce where everyone needed to go. It would be nice if they could have the Sherry the Mouse statues do that as well.
Actually I don't believe the Clanin event was formally announced. During the St. Patrick's Day event, Casca showed up at the Luna fairgrounds and asked for some help escorting Clanin from the Haven healer to the moongate. We got him to the gate, a few brigands and a couple of poison elementals later, Clanin disappeared through the gate. It was all over in about 5 minutes (if that)!
Oh and I noticed on UO Hall that two of the EMs have a website! Great idea! I hope all the shards get something like that.

It's wasn't enough to be really called an event, I only caught the tail-end of it, basically 10 poison elementals spawned and were dispatched of in .5 seconds, then Casca said "thanks" and that was pretty much it.
