Taryn surreptitiously looked over at the commotion near the doorway. She'd spent weeks watching the orcs for any sign of Barbossa or a clue to his whereabouts, weeks that seemed to drag on for a lifetime with little success.
She wrinkled her nose a bit as she once again caught wind of herself. She wasn't quite sure she'd ever get all the dirt off but disguising herself as one of the orcs and working alongside them had seemed the best idea to uncover a lead - at the time. Her one purpose now was to make Barbossa pay for the things he had done to her family and stop his madness from causing more trouble than it already had. She no longer cared what it took to accomplish her goal, even disguising herself as an orc and living amongst them.
"Finally," she thought to herself, "finally a break, a clue, maybe."
Carefully, Taryn eased over closer to the angry group near the chests against the back wall. Even after all these weeks, it was hard to understand these creatures when they were riled, and it seemed they were riled about something most of the time. The Elite Guards seemed to be arguing with a little runt of an orc who was in the process of turning quite red with fury. Taryn didn't think she'd ever seen an orc quite that shade unless covered with blood.
"Me Margut! Me bubhosh urk! Me bubhosh makr! Globs!" the orc shouted at the guards.
Taryn's eyes widened a bit in surprise and then narrowed as she heard the name Margut.
"So, Barbossa's great craftsman eh?" she thought to herself. "Yes, this could be exactly the break I've been looking for."
Taryn watched as one of the guard grunted and motioned Margut to the strange box partially hidden amongst the debris. Margut opened the box and seemed to study whatever was inside intently.
After a few moments, Margut slammed the box shut and stalked out of the room muttering to himself, "Glob humies. Margut show dem."
Taryn tried to follow Margut as he stomped from the room. Unfortunately, one of the "supervisors" caught sight of her. With a non too gentle cuff to the back of the head, he shouted at her to get back to work.
"O yes," Taryn thought viciously, "I'll definitely get back to work."
Taking one last look at the strange box, a plan began to take shape. She had to find out what was in that box. She knew in her bones it would lead her to information about Barbossa and, perhaps, her sister would be avenged finally.
