Event Complete
EM Event : Freeing The Masons. ("Forge Wars" Prologue)
Opening : Now
Final Resolution Event : Saturday, May 29th, 7:00pm PST. Zento, Makoto-Jima.

Attention Royal Investigators

A report has come in from our Ilshenar informant detailing an account of an unusual skirmish between the Juka and Titans. This week Queen Dawn is on a goodwill visit to the fair City of Zento on Makoto-Jima and cannot attend to the matter directly.

It is likely an issue of small consequence, however her highness wishes to have the details cleared up as a precaution of safety.

All available Investigators are requested to travel to Ilshenar and gather information on the surrounding circumstances. Our informant, the Exodus Overseer, is waiting by the compassion moongate to answer your questions about the battle.

Queen Dawn has made space in her Zento schedule to meet and discuss any findings. She will be available inside Zento City from 7:00pm on this coming Saturday eve, May 29th. All interested parties are invited to attend.

Her highness offers her gratitude for your continued service to the realm.

This document bears the official seal of Queen Dawn of Britannia.

About This Event (OOC)

Greetings!

How have all your adventures been this fine week?

This event is the prologue for the larger crafter-combat event "Forge Wars" currently scheduled for June 5th.

Participation in this event is by no means required to take part in the main event on the following Saturday. It offers no advantage beyond experiencing the background story, and at the risk of being pied to death or having no one turn up, I'll let you know that there aren't any special rewards on the cards for the prologue adventure.
On the other hand it does offer the chance for a bit of fun and in-depth knowledge. Also you'll be part of a moment in Pacific history that will leave a lasting mark on our community. But I can't go to far in to those details, lest the cats escape from their bag. I would like to make a special request though, if it is not too much trouble...

Would it be possible for a shard reporter or other scholar to come along and record the happenings for the forums and archives? It would very helpful for future players to understand the story behind this particular addition to the realm.

Thanks in advance!

As the June 5th event requires some prior organization by players, I will post a few details here.

Note: The following information is a heads-up for the June 5th event "Forge Wars", and is not a requirement of this weekend's event "Freeing The Masons".

To participate in "Forge Wars" on June 5th you will need the following.
  • A team of up to four players. Having less than four will put you at a severe disadvantage. If you have trouble filling your team, try your luck with a forum post or perhaps seek out solo players on the night.
  • Your team must have GM or better Blacksmith and GM or better Mining. These two skills may be on separate players. The rest of the skills are open, but you will need good firepower and tactical co-operation.
  • For team registration on the night, please prepare an in-game book with your member's names listed on the first page. Your blacksmith should be listed first.
  • You may wear any equipment you wish, excepting bracelets of binding or other summoning items.
  • All members must have empty backpacks. Only equipped items will be allowed.
  • No pets or mounts will be allowed, this includes ethereal types. (My apologies to tamers. I'll make it up to ya!)
  • A general combat resource kit will be supplied at the event. It contains regents, bandages, and a tithing stone. (The contents of the kit are open for discussion in this thread. I know I'm forgetting stuff.)
"Forge Wars" is PvM based, and as far as I know the event type is a first for any shard. So this is going to be a sort of trial run.
Also importantly, as it's a trial, we don't want to push our luck. So we will have to limit the team numbers to ten in total. Team registration will be taken on a first come basis on the night.

Hope to see you all this Saturday at "Freeing The Masons"!
...and do be gentle, it's my debut event and my first full-on EMing experience in over a year. :D

Comments and questions are very welcome here!

Just a quick note. If you don't have the SE expansion and can't reach Homare-jima, watch the "EM-Event" chat channel for information on the night.

:eek:snap:

Errrr, I guess I went a bit cross-eyed when I read the Tokuno maps...

Please note the meeting place with Queen Dawn on Saturday 29th is at:
Zento City, on Makoto-Jima.

...not that other place which we will all now forget was ever mentioned.

No 120's, HOWEVER, if you have gm (aka 100) mining and put on the Blacksmith Gloves of Mining, you can obtain 101, 103, or 105 mining. NO scroll necessary, the game just automatically bumps you up to the appropriate level of gloves worn.

Thank you everyone who came out!

There were a great many more present than expected. I wasn't sure what kind of numbers we would see given that pre-warning of no rewards.
But you guys definitly showed that Pacific people will come out for an adventure regardless of the promiss of goodies. Tonight made me very happy to have been assigned here.

I'll have the offical post for main event next Saturday ready for you shortly!

You can see the write up for this event here.

Thank you Pacific for a great night!
