(Question) EM activity on boards

Not that I attend many EM events (primarily due to time zone etc). But I seem to recall a post about EM's not being able to post on this forum directly.

Just happened to notice when looking at my old shard forum that there are numerous posts by their own EM. Is that common practice?

Should EMs be posting on the 'shard' EM event forum or what?

I'd prefer them to post on the shard forum direct personally and that seems to be what happens on Europa or did I miss a trick?

She does read this forum, she has 'liked' posts, but she doesn't get involved. I can't comment on other shards but I think it is fine this way, as EM's are neutral.

I'm certainly not questioning the work the EM's do nor would i wish them to get involved with board discussions etc where things can turn sour. Was merely interested as to why on some shard forums their EM's post about events on their regular shard boards. Whereas Messanna posts rigidly, and I'm not saying its wrong, on the Siege EM forum.

Given the relatively low traffic on the main shard board would it do any harm to post the events here? I'm sure there is a perfectly good reason why this is not the case.

I can think of one other reason - sometimes the Siege board gets busy and someone that doesn't get to read the Siege board every day might therefore miss a post about an event if it were only posted here. When the events are posted on the EM board, it's very easy for someone interested in EM events to quickly see what-all might be going on.

Since I came onboard as our Siege Reporter, I am trying to monitor her EM board so I can copy her posts over to our board. That way the community has both the quick and easy access to the event list, or can chat about it here on the Siege board.

I think our EM's 'staying out' of our sometimes contentious postings is probably a wise move, especially since we only have the Fel ruleset. Most other EMs are probably working on the Trammel side of things where they don't have to worry about their events being 'crashed' or 'spoiled.' Now, I think that everyone has been wonderful here so far in respecting EM Aurora's events and saving the fighting amongst ourselves until the end of things. I don't think any of us would want to see that change, and by her not posting on our shard board it keeps her a bit insulated from our occasional squabbling that erupts. We are probably more like a sometimes functional, sometimes dysfunctional family than we might wish to admit, lol.

SP boards were once the most active on Stratics. They may still be. I remember when we had a separate board for buying/selling. It took some complaining to change that.

Probably not far wrong to be honest, I can't account for Atlantic which I believe is the most populated, looking at my old shard boards, there are probably more EM posts than average player posts there.

And yes I would agree with 99% of what Adrianas has said although I don't believe the Siege board really gets that busy these days.

Either way I am content with the reasons against and will return to my corner..
