nateee - page a GM, tell them you need the escort flag removed from a failed escort.
I had to do that just last week, and the GM came in about 20-30 minutes and handled it (didn't see them, but interacted via the GM chat channel, that uses one of the brackets the way party uses "/" and alliance uses "|"). They were polite, quick and even asked if there was any other issues I had needing taken care of, while they were there.

You actualy dont even have to do that part of the quest in illishnar... all you have to do is complete ANY escort quest..
