Elf to human as a red

Hey guys, a firend of mine is trying to make his red char a human from an elf, but is stuck on a quest that tells him to defend a human in need? can anyone shed some light as to what he needs to do? Also if an elf has the required 300 pts in wep skill tactics, anatomy etc will he havethe same mana cost for specials as a human? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure the NPCs in towns will actually go with reds. I'm thinking if you find an NPC that has been captured by orcs or lizard men they might not be so picky about who escorts them to safety. Also, try chaos shrine looking for someone that can possibly be assisted. I believe that they put the red work around for the human to elf quest at chaos, so it is possible that they put the work around for the elf to human quest there as well.

The mana cost for specials doesn't change. If you don't have med or focus on the template then you gain 3 mr (2 from JOAT med and 1 from JOAT focus) and 2 stam regen (JOAT focus).

Great thx however I was under the impression that elves have a higher mana cost for specials, but that with over 300 pts in skills such as wep skill, tactics etc the mana cost for specials is reduced.. if so does this mean both elf and humans have the same mana cost with these skills or will elves still have a higher cost?

If you have over 300 pts displayed then human and elf will have same mana cost for specials.. the reason humans have a lower cost with less than 300 is the jack of all trades bonus to several of the skills needed to lower the mana cost, but if you have 300pts your using then that won't matter

Ah, good point. I wonder if the NPCs that spawn in the jail cell in the orc dungeon would work. Or the one on the NW end of the lizardmen level in Despise. Probably also could find some on the Arctic Island, but might have to run around a bit to find where they're spawning.
