EC Client Crashing To Desktop More Than Ever

Be interesting if anyone else has noticed a huge increase in the number of times the Enhanced Client has crashed to the desktop without an error message lately.

I do have only one possible answer to why the increase, I've spent hours running around cities looking for rioters, so I'm guessing perhaps the loading of statics/maps continuously is doing it? What ever it is, It happens at least twice an hour for me. Where as a month ago I'd be lucky to see it once a week.

It happened to me once tonight, before that it had been months since my last crash.

I've noticed that health bars are not updating properly also. Very annoying when your pet dies when you thought the poor critter was at 100% health.

Same here, it happens only while searching for the rioters, especially in Britain. It crashes about four times an hour. Bleak previously posted this:

The only detail we have at the moment is that it happens when we are "running around cities looking for rioters".

Basically, it happens when using the right mouse button, and when it does you're left with the menu on your desktop that you get from a right click.
I have also, on occasion, had a glimpse of an icon on my desktop, as if through the game, but somehow avoided the crash.
It's almost as if there are holes in the game allowing you to access icons underneath it.
A thought. When you crash, where, physically, on your monitor screen, is your cursor? Last couple of times for me it's been lower left screen and I've been moving down and left.

Total agreement with the OP. I have been crashing to desktop on a regular basis lately. However, it has not been restricted to the cities. Every time I have crashed, though, I have been moving the mouse. Last night it happened when searching the map by right clicking to move the display area. It happened while moving through a gate. It happened when walking through a dungeon. I cannot identify any specific game activity or computer action that is common to all the crashes except that I seem always to be using the mouse. I have never crashed to the desktop from any other program. I play the EC.

Aye I too have crashed frequently with the EC... and it's normally when I start/stop running.

I have been fighting in wrong with no crashes over at least 2 hours, I went to work on town loyalty points in Trinsic and have crashed to desktop without any error messsages 3 times in about 2 hours. I then went to minoc and played for about 3 hours with no crashes. totaly confused. All three instances were with the same account just different characers. I will have to look at what settings are different and that may take awhile.

Yeah I've been crashing up to 5 times per hour. Probably because I have been searching every single tile of the map in order to find an opposing faction member, mostly to no avail.

I find often when I crash it is when I was running in one direction and then decided to turn back on myself and run the other direction..... this often will crash me to the desktop... For me it's almost always when I'm running.

I've only ever crashed once on the EC, But I don't run around looking for rioters haha!

Well I'll say this I crashed a LOT when the Honesty items stuff first came out... running around looking for them hitting control shift a bunch caused so many crashes it wasn't even funny.

Glad I'm not alone, I have to guess the crashes are on purpose to break up the most tedious and dullest event in Ultima Online history with views of my desktop.

Ah ha! That explains it.... I do love the look of my desktop!

I'm usually good for the first hour of running around Brit looking for rioters. After that, it usually crashes about 3 or 4 times an hour. Hopefully a fix is put in place soon. I've just recently started using the EC and would like to continue to do so.
