EA wants money for theme packs yet clients stability is questionable.

Its not bending over when you genuinely don't care bout paying for something you enjoy, because lets face it if you never enjoyed all this controversy you probably wouldnt be playing just saying is all

The game should not crash every 20mins-1hour. That is not a live with it problem.

Ive resorted to pvming hoping for a fix soon, i prolly got a pay cycle left in me till i do leave.

PS im not here for politics wee papa smurf, i find that shallow. Im hoping others reply to this and alot, please reply more with your antics and keep the thread near the top. Im hoping its a big enough issue to fix, but you know... i mean the game is barely playable, w/e no biggy.

Odd combination there...

We do pay for what we enjoy: the monthly fee.

Controversy comes from Mythic's bewildering choices and anemic communication.

What people are dissatisfied with is the addition of content for additional monies. The HS booster is a bug riddled nightmare languishing in the background. People paid $15 per account for it, expecting a decent product.

Now we get two theme boosters that include a vendor system that should be free for all. Joy. More good money after bad.

Edit: As someone who plays the EC nearly exclusively, I'm dissatisfied with the unaddressed bugs, crashes, and general apathy the Devs have towards the client.

We are living with it--because we love UO, and think it is a great game. But EA shouldn't count on this to carry them through. They have probably lost a lot of revenue over the years because players have quit in frustration.

And breaking the bank--don't be so sure. When frustration out weighs the benefits of playing, people quit.This should concern not only the Devs but the players. Declining numbers will eventually shut this game if EA thinks it isn't profitable.

But we are living with it in spite of the bugs. We are living with the game also because it has great potential, which due to some unusual decisions, never seem to be realized.

But it still makes us angry, because we care.

Exactly, or else I wouldn't had played as long as I have (I remember Reds in Tram, and the bounty system, so it's been a many years). I wasn't for f2p, but I am now, essentially pay to enable whatever patches I want. Like that Dev said, don't like it, don't play/pay it (think if he was the community person, ug). The packs are here to stay, regardless, just the first of many

You can do what I'm planning on doing and not buy any of the boosters. If no one did then they would quit putting them out. But we all no that most people will buy them, so it is what it is....

To me, both clients are stable. I would consider them more so then I can ever recall over the past 12 years.

I will be buying both, but only to get richer.

EA has brought us a long way from Origin Systems good and bad. I just wish they would listen to us a little better and actually focus on what would improve player issues at hand versus what way they could get richer. Dont get me wrong they have made there fixes to issues, its just why add things, that to me seem to be just more pixel items instead of creating a better relationship between us and them because without us there is no UO. There will always be EA or a form of EA but at the rate I have seen people dropping on Baja shard it worries me where UO will be in a few years.

I'm just wondering how many mixtures of different themepacks & boosters the servers will be able to handle before they start having problems because player 1 has these booster/themepacks, player 2 has that combination of booster/themepacks, players 3, 4, & 5 have other combinations of booster/themepacks, and so on. At what point will the game system start electronically tripping over the mess of different buggy booster/theme packs so badly, it just trashes itself and the player account info?

Also, what will people do when playing in groups and keep running into the problem that things they want to do together, can't be done together, because not everyone in the group has the same game features? We give up playing in groups because eventually no two people in the same group have the same booster/theme pack combos?

This is a building mess thats going to collapse at some point.

My guess is much of the instability can be directly related to the two clients not meshing as they should. I never went through so many crashes to desktop using ctrl + shift until the new grid system was implemented in the new client.

On average...I crash at least 3 times a day everyday...since the introduction of the EC.

well it is still in beta those are things that happen in betas maybe in anther 13 years it will be out of beta just saying

I feel they should just start over that client really isn't working out good and is not attracting new players, the graphics/art are just bad very bad

I pay about $100 for my family to go to a movie and sometimes it sucks.

I pay a huge sum of money each month(alot more then a $13 sub fee)for my cell phone bill & I get dropped calls. Your point?
