EA-Land offline for update 4/4/08

Just a wild guess here but maybe its worth a try. After the city comes back up might wanna try updating thru your program files. Seems the desktop Icons maybe whats causing some of the login issues. My wife and I always go thru progam file and havent had a problem yet. Where as a friend of ours uses the Icon on her desk top and has a problem everytime. Just a thought.

And Vista users make sure you do the right click and run as admin.

Your statement is just another reason to get people in an uproar. You have no information on this so you start assuming what the problem is. Let's not venture down the path of what Assuming does. Let's wait and see what the update does and for any word from the Devs.

I prefer PMA = Positive Mental Attitude and it seems that alot agree with me. There are those however that just love to start rumors and feed off the frenzy of worry that it creates.

Again people this is BETA!!!!

No actually i live in a nice home in a subdivision with an inground pool and a lawnman that come every other week to do the yard, i have 2 cars in my garage, a freezer full of food. I got all this by being careful with my money.

Sooo, you're happy with way the game is? Or, you are willing to wait patiently until it's fixed?

Good, I'm glad to hear there are people who are not bothered by the problems with the game. I'm glad there are people who are positive in their assessment of the game's future - these attitudes help to keep things in perspective when things are looking bad.

But, what makes you think that somebody who feels differently needs to be put-down, and their opinions brushed off like so much dust?
Comments like "snarky" and "whiney" are not going to go very far towards gaining respect for your *own* opinions. They are, in fact, no better than the "head-in-the-sand/buttkisser" posts.
The game is buggy - it is being worked on. But the devs don't need "Great! Awesome!" for every little thing they do, anymore than they need "You suck!". They need *honest* feedback in order that they can make the necessary fixes/adjustments.
The devs do *not* need your "protection". They are not children, and have demonstrated time and again that they can give as good as they get.
What they *need* is honest feedback. They have said so many times!
If you like something - good! Say so..... but also say why.... this is helpful. Just heaping praise doesn't tell them anything useful.
But if you *don't* like it - that's ok too, but also say why.... this, too, is helpful.

For those that insist that name-calling and insults is the best way to go.... Not even. The chance that a dev continues to read beyond the first insult is extremely small. So, even if your complaint is legitimate, you have probably cut yourself out of the herd.

To everyone - Try to remember - Stratics is supposed to be a "Discussion Forum", not a combat arena, or a "Lets see who can be the biggest butt kisser/hole."

once again i have to ask why complain about complainers?as annoying as it is for you to read people complaining it is to others to see you telling them they are wrong for it.

seems to me whispering is talking alot about positive attitude but sure is giving out alot of negative and responding to e1s post that says anything SHE thinks is wrong.thank god we have freedom of speech in america!!!!!

I didnt bother to rad every post so if this has been said already, well it needs to be said again, regarding the downtime and updates, that was some of the best communication on the issue i have seen so far. I can really appreciate when they take the time to keep us up to par on the issues,. THANKS!

Looks like the 800x600 error has been fixed.
Use the patch to update your updater, then log into the game all the way.

Thereafter, you should be able to use your client (with the 800x600 parameter) for your other accounts.

I am still hanging at 100% too.

Maybe later. In the meantime I go play L2 until then.

Why do you keep saying this over and over? The game is not in the beta stage of the software release life cycle.

but my updater has always said, cant update the updater ...lol ...i allways just have to hit continue to play.....and i can only play the first sim anyhow lol

I am hoping they will fix the res 800x600 for TC3 as well. I left a message for lee regarding this issue.

Ok Ok... EA-Land is under CONSTRUCTION!!! There I didn't say the B word this time.
And no I am not saying that others can't speak their mind, I am saying that too many times negative post with all the whining and complaining gets us absolutely no where...and yes everyone is entitled to their opinion. I do have a problem when someone thinks that they should just pull the plug on the game. If you don't like what is happening while it is under CONSTRUCTION, then go to free status.
