Well within the past 48 hours EA-Land and Free Play have been all the rage elsewhere.

Here are a few links where our game had honorable mention.

It seems that TSO/EA-Land is getting more press just this week than it has in its five years.

Good job EA Team!!!! You guys are really breathing new life back in.

No press is bad press.

Now we need them to start producing TSO CDs, and the subs will zoom.

You are given the option to get a dvd rom of the game for $5 at the download site Here

But honestly when I did the download it was so quick, I couldn't imagine waiting for it to ship.

Downloading on my cable modem took about 30 minutes including the install part. It's so much easier just doing it that way. Man I hope this brings alot of people to the game. I haven't seen such a push for this game in years.

Awesome Jackiee! 13 mil Pogo subscribers? Holy shmokes! Glad that the word is getting out there now. Once all the cities merge, and subsequent bugs, if any, fixed, they can officially 'launch' the game and hopefully subscribers will come en masse..

Wth is Habbo Hotel anyway? lol....

I just read some of the links and all of the information is not good. They are focusing too much on "free"! Also, did anyone read the comments at the end of some of the posts? Not a good reputation at all. The Dev team will need to work on fixing the reputation of the game along with the bugs of it for it to really come alive and move forward.

Well I guess it's good the word is getting out. However, one of the articles that I read was full of misinformation and inaccurate facts.

But hey, free advertising is just that. You get what you pay for.

I am hoping, go or bad, people will try it and love it like the rest of us Simaholics. I don't play as much as I used to but I still love to log in and have some fun with all my friends.

There are some good posts in there. I think after the merge after the dust settles there will be more noticeable updates to the game it will entice more people to want to play/come back.

If you notice a lot of the comments base things on Beta.
But I also noticed a lot of "I had fun" "I had good friends" Who are going to try it for free.

Hopefully after trying it for free they will have enough fun and realize they want to do more and that $10 a month really isn't all that much.

The only way EA can fix the games reputation is to keep doing what they are doing and drawing suggestions from players to help improve everything.
I also noticed people saying that a lot of the changes are things that they as players suggested years ago...

so it really is a good thing even though some of the stuff is said with a negative undertone.

thats great! however, since its getting all this much attention , especially on the "Free accounts" part .. they need to change the basics and restrictions to free playing in order for all these attracted new and old players to actually enjoy the game and become subscribers. We dont want to loose all these potential customers since they are just going to download the game, make a huge update, play it for a week or two with nothing much fun to do and then leaving the game disappointed. They need to visit all houses, trying every single thing , but probably gaining nothing (not gaining any $ when selling jams.. and not gaining skills when they do skill - or maybe 1 point max?) Let them own a lot of a size 1, dont let them be able to expand, a limit of 50 objects (its just for them to try it out) ... plus, make a sandbox lot by EA run by NPCs where all these players could go there and try the CC out, since that is wat will bring many customers. they need to try everything out with a limit.

Yeah they'll be more likely to be a nuisance on lots if they can't really do anything worthwhile

I agree. Without being able to try everything, they won't know what the game is really like. They should be able to get a job (but not make it past level 1) and earn alittle money. Give them a chance to become addicted and they will turn into paying members.

Its funny how one of the replies to one of those articles said

" Cosmic sans is a sin against humanity"

G

I had a laugh at that too, not just because of that comment, but because the entire comment section was filled with talk of Comic Sans, rather than discussion about the game.

Now, if only we could all agree on something as stupid as that, so that in the middle of a heated flame-war, somebody could simply yell "COMIC SANS!" and the entire forum would stop arguing and share the love/hate of one common thing.

the advertising is good and well, allot of ppl will come,
but if you cant do anything in EA land like buying a property and earn simoleans learn skills etc, whats the point of playing it or lets say even test it ?
ppl will just leave as fast as they come

It's actually had quite a lot of discussion on the official Second Life forums too, because a lot of people that left TSO went to SL.

Unfortunately the forum is for account holders only, so there's little point me linking from here.
