EA LAND Custom Content: Whats allowed and whats not?

I ben looking through stratics, TSO-E and couldnt find the answer. Is there an official TOS regarding custom pics? I see many sells them in EA Land nobody really knows either.

So lets throw out the obvious of what IT NOT allowed: porn, offensive pics, shock pics and any other x-rated pics.

But what about stuff like... Please say whether or not the following are allowed for uploading ALLOWED or NOT ALLOWED:

Sports Logos

Pics of Famous People

Pics of Fictional Characters(non-cartoon)

Cartoon Characters

Religious Icons

Stealing/Copying (Screenshot) of already created pics in TSO

(Feel Free To Add Your Own)

From a legal standpoint...you should be getting permission from the owner of any copyrighted or trademarked images before using them. I'm not so sure about screenshots from TSO, as technically an EA employee is approving it, therefore they are giving you permission (I'm not entirely sure about this, but that is just my common sense approach...).

This pretty much leaves your own creations, legally.

However, from what I've seen in game, copyrighted and trademarked images HAVE been approved and put into game. My guess is that EA approves these under the assumption that you are getting legal permission from the owners of these images.

As I've already said, most of this is just my speculation...there was a thread about this a while back and I'm not sure what the outcome was. I'll look for it and get you a link if there is any worthwhile information in it.

I know some folks will come along and correct me if I'm wrong, my understanding of it is; by uploading we are claiming the right to use the image. Some companies may have issues with this and by uploading content you dont have the legal right to use, you leave yourself open to potential litigation by the rightful owners. I am not sure if the ToS has been fully updated yet.

One poster discussed this with me in game, she did receive the right to personal use but not the right to sell an image she especially likes. I'm sure she can tell us in more detail how she went about this.
