ea, gamestop, trymedia... Oh my!

I am seeking help with a problem I am currently having. I bought stygian abyss through gamestop digital download. I thought that since it was gamestop that there wouldnt be any issues. I was wrong. Gamestop uses a company called trymedia(owned by realnetworks). I downloaded the game and everything was fine. But when i entered in the upgrade code it says: already applied to my acct. But it wasnt. i have no access to tel mur. I wont go into more detail than that, because i want everyone too do a search on trymedia. It will shock you at the very least. I have been working on this issue for over a month. And still nothing. I have contacted EA and they promised me some free stuff, But on the day that i was supposed to get these things, i got a email msg saying they want more info about my problem.
um ya.
Has anyone had an experience with trymedia and fixed there problem on there own? I dont know what too do. Will i be able to buy a new styg code and apply it too my acct?
If u do a search on trymedia you will be like wtf? Why would gamestop affiliate with them?
I have contacted trymedia and never get an answer back from them.
so simply please. has anyone had this problem and been able to figure it out?

I had did the pre-order through gamestop for Warhammer Online when it was coming out. I was suppose to get the promotional codes that came with it, I did not recieve them in my email. So I messaged them and they gave me this story how there was an limit on how many codes were given and sorry I missed the boat basically.

I wasnt happy so emailed them back arguing about it. Well 2 days later get the "supposedly limited promotional codes" with a big apology. So I would email them and see if they can correct the issue.

You did apply the code on the accounts page? Not through the 'promotions' option on the paper doll?
What does the information on the accounts page say?
If it's a new account, you should use the 'new account' code, not the upgrade code. That is for existing accounts.

As far as I can tell ... he can only buy an upgrade from gamestop.
If his "error message" is telling him he is already upgraded ...

has he tried to play Stygian based area's/characters/content?
If has tried ... and No joy ...
Time for the EA support number.

As far as I know ... trymedia has NO relevance.
unless he got phished/spoofed to do his thang THRU a bogus link.

Trymedia is a 3rd party that sends you the digital download through gamestops website.
If you do a search like: -trymedia ripoff-... You will find that there has been alot of cases with downloading trymedia products not all the same as mine, but unplayable. you download the game. it is a succesful download, and the program is on your computer. but, you cant play or do anything with it.
Gamestop tells you that trymedia will be doing the download.
And ive tried all inventive ideas, yes the one you just thought of. So there is no: have you tried this idea?

Why did you NOT buy direct from EA game site?

Was it cheaper through the third party?

my guess is, IF you are trying to apply the code in the right place, the third party seller has already used the code

if this is the case the you only have yourself to blame for trying to save a few quid

if this is NOT the case then i apologise and wish you luck

There are two types of codes:

A new account code and upgrade existing account code. Do you know for sure that you bought the right one and are you trying to use the correct code under account management? In other words, do you want a new account or do you want to updrage an older one?

There has been a fair amount of confusion at the beginning of SA with this.

No idea then ... and Pass! on the OPs direction/motivation FOR posting the thread.

I wont go into more detail than that, because i want everyone too do a search on trymedia.

Just not enough info to try and trouble shoot HIS installation problems through two other third parties & EA support services & any mis-strokes/mis-understanding on HIS part ...

My reason for starting this thread was stated. I was simply asking if anyone out there had this happen too them; And was successful in finding out a way to rememdy the issue. It was also a warning to anyone making the same mistake; and buy a digital download game from gamestop. I made a mistake in ordering the stated product; while thinking hey its gamestop, shouldnt be any problems...
