EA Customer Support : Is it normal that they do not get back for 2 days ?

Since UOGamecodes did not work I resorted to EA Customer Support to help with codes purchase.

It is well over 2 days now and I have yet to hear from them.

Is this normal particularly after the release of an expansion where customers might be waiting for the codes they are willing to purchase ?

My understanding was that they were supposed to get back within 24 hours. It is not so ?

I must say that I have hardly found a Company so difficult to spend my own money with.

Seems so, I ordered one upgrade first thing in morning of launch and the code did not work.

I logged on to my account applied it, it said this code was not available.

Ordered another upgrade two hours later, this one worked(yay!).

Called CS on the first upgrade. They said they could not figure out whats going on, and that they will upgrade my situation to LEVEL 3 and will hear from them 24-72 hours.

So I call again a day or so later, by now i just want my card billed back so I can re-order.

Yeps, they will upgrade my situation to LEVEL 3 and will hear from them 24-72 hours again.

What a bunch of monkeys!:cursing: I mean I am sure they will resolve this soon.:thumbsup:

I went through all the same when my email didn't contain the code. Lvl3.. 24-48 hours, etc. It seems EA/Mythic didn't anticipate people contacting the support desk and armed their staff with no tools initially. I called back today and it seems they now have the tools to upgrade your account to SA.

Same issues here. Person on the other side of the line has no ability to check and help. Good news they send on the info and you wait for a get back while you kill trees writing down another code. But the money grubbers been stroking my $s for two days now.

Just make sure you take down the order code before hitting continue.

My second order only produced the promotion code and the third had nothing. Waiting till they clear up those before I spend another cent.

Sorry to hear about ervyone's problem, But glad to see I am not the only one with this issue. Mine is the same as those above. But hey I did see that somone posted a screen shot of their 120 imbuing. So at least we know it can be done in two days.

cant wait to get started.

Hey. Watch the namecalling. If this thread resorts to that it will be locked and the offender punished.

I agree about the namecalling but I must disagree about locking the thread because of any poster that is not the OP.

If entire threads were to be closed for posters other than the OP, than, those who did not like a given argument, could have a tool for having those threads closed and those arguments not brought up or discussed.

I do agree that if it was the OP of a thread to post against the rules, than the whole thread could be possibly subject to be locked; but for other posters' posts, I think deleting those single posts would be fairer.

At least, that is my opinion about it.

I haven't even been able to get into the game for 2 days. I reported it right away and still haven't heard back. :cursing:

which client did you try?
If it was the 2D Beta client, you should uninstall it and download the latest version.
Other than that - what for an error message do you get? Which Operating System you are using?

I completely agree with you. This EA company is the worst company I ever dealt with, not only regarding the very poor quality of customer service, but also the technical inability to make these simple things work, like applying a game code. Unbelievable.

I bought an upgrade (not even Stygian Abyss) and it didnt work. I used the ingame Help button, option Promo code, and got a message that the code is invalid. This is the code they emailed me! I wrote email, didn't get an answer. There is no support whatsoever, even tried the INgame help, but they send you back to the website. I am usually very patient and understanding, but this is beyond any acceptable difficulties.

I am not worried about the refund on my credit card: the minute I call my credit card reporting that I didnt get the service I paid for, my card will be immediately refunded. I will not even deal with EA when I decide to go for the refund.

But I wanted the upgrade! This is what is most disturbing: their customers are willing to pay HIGH fees for things in the game that in my personal opinion shouldn't even be charged for, considering the monthly fee is so high. They take the payment, and are unable to deliver the service, plus they don't give ANY customer support of any kind. This all would be extremely frustrating if it wasn't pathetic. Two thumbs down to the incompetency of EA.

I seem to be running into a similar problem.

I've been charged twice for one upgrade.

Who do we contact about this?

well, this message typically happens, if a program is not designed for the operating system. I cannot find the updated system requirements for the current 2D client, but the old one still stated, that Windows 98 is supported "As of the Mondain's Legacy expansion".
But maybe this has changed, since Windows 98 also fell out of any support by Microsoft years ago ...

SetFilePointerEx is only compatible with windows 2000 and later..

Wow that sucks everyone is having such problems. I got my upgrade from uogamecodes.com and everything worked out well. I got my upgrade code(s) (SA / Storage Increase and 7th Character slot) without a hitch. all codes came in my email and they all worked and I was only charged for what I bought. I hope everyone gets their problems solved soon.

Wow, how pathetic. You need to get a life if you think innocently calling EA's support staff, "monkeys", is a big deal. Go ahead and ban me, bring purpose to your meanigless existence.

Not at all, simply suggesting that closing a whole thread for one or a few posts not even from the OP, which are not along posting rules, could end up being a way to get threads discussing unwanted arguments, closed.

It is my opinion that it would be better to delete or move those single posts and not the whole thread, when the OP is not responsible for any post in that thread that is not along the posting rules.

If 98SE isn't supported then they really need to take this off of www.uogamecodes.com:

I have yet to get a message from EA saying UO will not work on Windows 98SE.

Tech support has gotten back to me, they told me to uninstall, reinstall, and patch back up. I spent 5 days doing that just to get the same error when I tried to login. When I let them know I still had the same prob, they sent me a message I don't even understand.

Depending on your operating system, all saved games will be located in one of two locations. Additionally, to view these files, you will need to be able to view all hidden files and folders.

Follow the instructions below for your specific operating system.

To enable the viewing of Hidden files, follow the steps listed below:

For Microsoft Windows 98:

1.Click the Start button on the Windows Taskbar.
2.Click My Computer.
3.Click View on the menu toolbar atop the window and select Folder Options.
4.Click the View tab.
5.Click the Show all files radio button and select it.
6.Click the Apply button and then click OK.
7.Close the My Computer window.

Your computer should now be configured to show all hidden files.

The path of the saved game files are:

For Windows 98:
C:\Windows\Local Settings\Application Data\NFS Underground 2
