It's been over a week since I filed a bug report about many millions of gold of items missing from a house.

So far we have not yet earned the courtesy of a response.

Follow up requests for information about the status of the account for removal of duped items, marks against the account, have also been ignored.

They say killing the dog doesn't cure the bite, but everybody I've talked to said they Did feel better. Since you can't kill 'em - Make 'em Famous.

Get all your info in an organized manner w/ a proactive story wrapped around it. Google about 50 gaming review sites and go post. It's only fair to our fellow gamers

"They" will NOT discuss marks on account
(ONLY wipe them off WHEN you use the service provided)

YOU need to trash the duped items
BEFOREthe GM's find them on your account and >action< tha account >as they chose<

In fact, we believe the less interference from the Game Masters, the more rewarding a game Ultima Online will be. We want to encourage players to solve problems on their own, within the community. We firmly believe that the more players come together and form a community, the less they have to worry about anti-social behavior. However, certain times a Game Master must step in and clear up misunderstandings or remove harmful players. In the old days, a Red Robed GM would show up (eventually) to discuss your problem with you. Granted, they quickly became infamous for the phrase "I'm sorry but I can't help you with that," but hell, at least you had someone to pancake to about your problem.

Nowadays, you drop a request into a black hole, and chances are, if you get any response at all, it will be to go to the (rather useless and infrequently updated) website.

In an analogy sense, it used to be you'd phone in an order for a pizza, talking to someone, and eventually a delivery boy would show up at your door. Many times he had no pizza at all or the wrong order.

Now, it's like you send an email to an address saying you want a pizza. You wait but the pizza never comes, but in a few hours you get an email advertising pizza instead.

I didn't call a GM. I filed 2 bug reports because in house that I and my husband own dozens of commodity deeds vanished, and another chest was also empty. Ten years of gems also vanished. Only my husband's and my accounts have access to the house.

The deeds were acquired legally, but someone suggested that they may have been duped before we acquired them over 2 years ago, and removed by a GM.

Whatever happened to the missing items, I feel that we are entitled to an explanation of why they vanished. So far we have heard nothing from EA.

That supposed bug.. its reproduceable? if not, then its just your own mistake and not a bug.

No one, GM or DEV, can know if you own a duped item. They cannot differentiate a duped from a non duped one, thats a fact.

Whatever happened to the missing items, I feel that we are entitled to an explanation of why they vanished. So far we have heard nothing from EA.
They dont know what happened because you can not reproduce the supposed bug. Who knows, maybe your husband traded all the resources for spring cleaning points, or maybe he moved them into a new commodity box or maybe someone else you trust has used one of your accounts to stole them or maybe.. [insert here 1000 more maybe's]

I'd bet that didn't happen, even if you were the ones that duped them (if they really were duped - not from 2 yrs ago). You would of received official notice: msg on log-in, acct ban, house gone, or even something as simple as a book locked down (in chest, or under house sign) w/ a GM name in it saying they did something, I still have a book from gm spada

after that...
Any one on the house lists outside your 2 accts?
Any one besides just the two of you have any access to either acct?
Any one else besides the 2 of you have any characters on your accounts?
Any one else in any household (irl) that plays UO, or has friends that do?
what floor and wall were these chests on? not an outside wall I hope

It would be a pain to investigate, but in the current state of the game, these errors seem to be more common.... They may merit deeper investigation.

She could replicate with empty commodity deeds. But lets be real, since no one has complained about such a supposed bug and it has only happened to her, that means it wasnt a bug but her own mistake.

If it happened, then there should be some sort of code at the time of the event showing that something happened, right? That can be used to determine if it was player or system error.
You are assuming that there is a log for every object in this game that gets deleted, moved or whatever... well, no, there is not. Some months ago some rubble items were deleted on magincia houses and the devs needed to start a backup for each shard on a temporary server just to know what exactly was deleted. Why such a trouble? because there is not (and never will be) a log file with detailed info about every item and events on this game.

Game Masters do not have access to the backups. There are literally gigs of data in a backup, and it is not feasible for any member of our staff to search this data for every player that requests it. Even if we could, this would only show us if the item did exist at one time, and not what happened to it. Without being able to verify how an item, stat, or skill was lost, a GM simply cannot make the decision to replace it for you, and we ask that you do not ask a GM do to so.

If you lost anything due to a bug in the game, please try to recall the events preceding the loss, and report everything you can about the loss and the circumstances to our QA team. You can do this by submitting the form at Untitled Document , and our QA team will do their best to recreate the situation and verify the results in a test environment. This information, if verified, would then be passed along to the Development team for resolution. While this will not get your lost items back, it may help us to prevent this situation happening to yourself or other players in the future, making Ultima Online a better world for all our players.

Incorrect. If you check the original post I made last week, at least 1 other person has had items vanish out of a secure chest in their house

No to all of the above except the last one. Yes they were on an outside wall.

They Did have a problem where objects were looted from Outside the structure when the chests were on the North? wall i believe, mainly on the bottom? floor, but possibly 2nd floor as well. It was said 'they fixed it', but like HS and all the other issues 'fixed', nobody believes them anymore. I think some people went so far as adding an extra wall which was the only sure resolve - you're in a pre-made?

regardless, sorry for the loss, but I think you're screwed and turning in a bug report is pretty much it, exc for public updates on the no-service
