Dying at champ spawns bug.

Dying at champ spawns is ruins your chances of getting a replica, it's like leaving the server. we've done tons of Tok champs and watched who was there, and marked people off that died.

People that were there since the beginning without dying got it. If everyone came late, or dyed, it was random.

Yes just a guess here but I think folks are challenging the spawn then hiding until it is defeated. I notice most idols I get to are already challenged but no one is fighting the spawn. So if challenging the spawn gets you instant artifact rights or close to it then why bother risking death and loosing the artifact?

I have done about 30 spawns and have received one mining SoT. I die nearly every time so I think death definitely takes you out of the running for the reward, Or at least sets you back to 0 chance.

I disagree. I've died at the champ spawns I've got replicas from.

my sister and i have tested the system thoroughly on balhae (the deadest of all dead shards). the breakdown is, if you kill 5+ mobs at a champion spawn, you have a chance an artifact, period. you dont have to even touch the boss. to be honest, the numbers we seem to come up with is if you dont touch the boss you have a better chance at getting an artifact (although this is probably just random chance). dying is irrelevant. even if dying wiped your looting credits, all you would have to do is res and kill 5 or more champion spawn monsters again. you can even kill monsters after the champion boss has spawned, not do damage to the boss, and still have a chance at an artifact. we've gotten several trying this method.

we have only tested the artifact system on felucca vermin spawns, as this is the easiest one to do with 2 people. your complaints may hold true for the ilsh and tokuno spawns, although i doubt it because they all work on the same principles

my suggestion, if you want artifacts, make a stealth mage, go find pvp guilds that are fel spawning, and drop random EVs and kill a few dozen champion mobs. stay on the same subserver as the boss at all times. or just get in a pvp guild :D

I died about 15 times at a Serado spawn just about 20 minutes ago and still got a Pacify at the end, even while I was also dead for the last time (having been killed when he was redlined).

This theory is wrong, someone died 4-5 times to Rikktor and still ended up getting Crown, while nobody else died.

Do you have to stay in the area continuously? (eg: if I'm just working the spawn and gathering packloads of gold and resources, making several trips home and back before the champion appears, would I still be in the running?)
