Dungeon chest loot

I am currently lockpicking dungeon chest to raise the skill and I get lots of magical stuff. Because I restarted playing only recently after a 10 years break, I have no clue what stats are valuable and don't know which items to keep and what to vendor.

Could anyone please help me out there? Thanks all.

This will at least get you started. Ask questions regarding specific items in the craftsman, warrior, etc. forums.

The short of it is that there is very little interest in the items you find in those chests. However if you are training mysticism, they can be unraveled into ingredients for imbuing. That being said, the rng may occasionally impart the items with a particularly good combo of characteristics, but that is extremely rare. I once found a 1/3 ring with 15 med and 19 lrc in a chest.

Have been looking at the links, very helpfull thanks. Also found out what a 1/3 ring means (1 FC/ 3 FCR) by searching old posts. As I currently don't have the corresponding expansion, I cannot try out imbuing... Postponed until account migration finalised.
Also, I found a "Tall Straw Hat" that has Poison Resist 17%, eventhough it should only be 15 max. according to stratics item properties page.

It can go over 15%, 15% is the max addition to resist that an item can have, but thats on top of the items regular resists.

It can go even higher with material and arms lore bonuses if crafted.
