ok, im gonna jump in on this thread.
im fairly new to being a sampire, but ive got a lot of practice in over the last week or so waiting for a swampy to bond.
he bonded tonight, so i went and did a champ spawn, it was fine. i went to twisted weald thinking 'i know, lets have a go at dreadhorn'.
i went in, fought my way through the quicksand, got to the weald proper, and for about half an hour ran around, killed spite a few times, irk a few times, guile, sabrix, lissith etc etc. im doing ok i think. i wish the keys would drop more frequently, but i wont complain.
then Irk spawns again, so i attack, and he ****s me. totally, utterly, destroys me. so i rez, come back, same again. rinse, repeat, but this time i win! huzzah! he spawns again, 10 seconds later im napping in the swamp.
ok i think, ill try something else. i come back, grab my body, run down a bit, kill lissith and sabrix a few more times, get their keys, im thinking woot its all ok, i luckily got irk's brain when i killed him that last time. so i run down and guile and spite are on top of each other. nope, no chance of seperating them, they **** me.
now im standing in the middle of the weald, next to the river, killing random vine creatures for honor, too scared to go up because ultra-Irk is there waiting, too scared to go down because guile and spite are up for a night of double-team shenanigans, unable to go to gnaw because quite frankly im now scared of the paragon changeling thats spawned, and fairly annoyed because my swampy is now a ghost, and i have my ethy to keep me company.
when fighting changelings, including named ones, im using soulseeker and a random crap heater shield.
my template is, actual skill:
120 swords
120 bush
120 parry
100 necro
100 tactics
100 anatomy
60 chivalry > 73 with items.
i would normally be using counter attack, but against the changelings im desperatly trying to keep confidence on to keep my life up. the changelings are (generally) pulled one ata time (a random vine thing doesnt matter) and they are EoO'd, and i am using cw.
as far as i can tell, im not doing anything wrong. could one of you guys that farms keys for dh regularly illuminate me as to how this is done? because i was expecting to spend a fortune on insurance dying to DH, not to a sodding changeling that after half hour of dying to me decided to repeatedly respawn as lord Irk, god of Europa, owner of face.
