Dreadhorn Bug - Awaiting GM Response *Edit* Canned Response Recieved (shocker)

Was doing dreadhorn solo just now and about half way through was teleported to the mushroom cave with the message:

"You have been transported out of this room"

I still had the 2 keys as the timer had 17 seconds left so i quickly jumped back in and ran back up the island to where dread should have been, but he was gone, no dread in sight, then I was bounced back to the mushroom cave with the same message.

After a torrid time getting the keys (took me an hour because there was a bard playing silly beggers with all the spawn) I am really annoyed that I wasn't even allowed the chance to do what I set out to.

Currently 7th in the que (ha!), if I get a canned response to this i'm gonna need some kind of input from Jeremy on what i'm actually supposed to be paying my money for here.

I strongly suspect a canned response will be winging its way to my computer in the next 45 mins or so (why it takes them so long to send a standardised response I dont know?)

Lets see what happens.

Its now 2.45pm and 33 minutes after my bug report.

Canned response recieved. This issue will require further investigation. My missing items cannot be replaced. Please send a detailed bug report to us which you will never hear another thing about.

I'm going to email Jeremy about this because its an absolute joke.

Sounds like an old bug that has been happening there for a while where the time from the previous group has overlapped. I wouldn't expect much to come from the petition.

Indeed. I only expect one thing from GM's, and that is to be fobbed off constantly.

I have pm'd Jeremy with this to see if she can offer some kind of explanation as to why there appears to be absolutely no in game support for when one of the numerous, known bugs ruins someones gameplay.

Tbh, the GM couldn't make much except taking notice of the happening. He/she cannot make a dreadhorn spawn half life and transport you to the island, especially since he/she didn't witness what happened.

Since you knew what the outcome was going to be (canned response), then why even bother clogging up the GM queue with yet another unnecessary call and just send in a bug report, its not like its hard to do.

What did you expect a GM to do anyway if one did show up, give you a cookie and a pat on the head for being a good bug detector!

When something like this goes wrong, a GM should be on hand to assist, end of.

The game broke down, ruining my gameplay, and there was no one interested in helping me.

That isn't acceptable to me.

It would of been nice if the GM could give a key to respawn the Dreadhorn in this kind of situation, where there is a known bug. But I realise that could be open to abuse...

I guess its just another of the many bugs that plagues this game that they will never bother to fix.

there is a timer that if you don't kill the peerless in enough time it does reset on you. Maybe because you are trying to solo it it took you longer to kill it and you ran out of time. I honestly believe that peerless should not be solo'd. I think they should be design so that you have a group of atleast 5 going in before it will let you in.

Like I said in my OP, when i got booted, the keys were still active from when I went in, which meant I had been there less than 10 minutes. The timer is 2 hours before you get kicked out, so that was not the issue here.

Just out of curiosity, is there particular reason you feel that it shouldn't be solo'd?

Then they should increase their difficulty. Many are possible to solo, and they're all easily done with 2 people if you know what you're doing. The fact that with 3 keys/parties you CAN take up to 30 people makes me lmao almost as much as the devs thinking anyone would NEED that many.

If someone spends the time getting the keys solo (aprrox an hour..depending on peerless)...spends the time and gold to get a nice suit to do so....spends the time to make a template to do so.....there is no valid argument as to why one should not be able to do something solo.

The problem with many MMO's is the "group mentality". While it is great to have group content (which we do in UO..at least now with peerless), it is that persons right to be able to have fun in a way they CHOOSE.

Think of it like this. You can run keys to any peerless with a good group in a short amount of time, and do many of them. If your soloing, it will take you a very long time to do so in comparison. That's balance in my book.

The thing I hated about games like SWG, and EQ, were random people standing around spamming "LOOKING FOR GROUP TO DO SUCH AND SUCH"..spending half your game time looking for a group is not the way to have fun IMO. That's why every single time I will come back to UO after trying other MMO's. UO gives choices. Choices are good.

I have a good group to do stuff with and its all fine and dandy, but if I log on during non-peek hours and am bored...what is one supposed to do ? Stand around and spam "looking for group"...? No, in UO I can go solo a peerless if I so choose, because I'm good enough, smart enough, and doggonit people like me. */end shameless SNL plug*

Another analogy would be having to fill up all your seats in the car to go somewhere before the engine turned over. Comon hon I gotta go to the store! Get the kids! Just to go get oh I dunno...some sausage. Imagine how pissed off you'd be if your car wouldn't work until you filled up all the passenger seats. You have the choice of either going out with the family for a night on the town...or going to do whatever the hell ya want without them. Spousal nagging optional.

As for the bug, its never happend to me, but I've heard of it happening to others. That would absolutely piss me off after spending that time getting the keys and getting all pumped up to go solo a peerless. At least it happened to the OP in the beginning.

Amen. The "Looking For Group For...." is a BIG reason why I left WoW and came back to UO. Spending most of your time trying to find people to participate in end game is not playing the game, it's standing around with your finger up the orifice of your choice wasting your time.
