I would hear from our People thoughts, comments, and views pertaining to the Dread Warhorses.

All, feel free to Comment, tho I especially wish to hear from Tamers able to own these Awesome Steeds.

They already exist in Sosaria, so balance issues do not apply.

Every Tamer I know wants one. Every Tamer I know prefers them to all other mounts/steeds.

No Tamer I know cares much at all for the Bane Dragons tho some own one as they do all tamables.

WHY, can we NOT have a reintroduction of perhaps the MOST popular pet ever introduced into Sosaria???

What say the People? What say the demigods?

My tamer is a gargoyle so as far as owning a dread mare i care little. Even when my tamer was an elf I didnt care for them much at all. Simply put its out tanked and out damaged by other pets. Its the rarity factor that makes them what they are and anyone saying differently is just looking at them though gold coins!

Didn't the devs state the reason for the bane dragon introduction was to provide an obtainable option for those who do not have (but desire) a dread mare without entirely devaluing the dread mare?

I'd rather see more diversity and work done to make alternatives which appear for brief periods of time (couple months) every so often. Create some super reptalons that are tameable or something.

its really nice that you dont have to feed the dread mares special food and that its short and doesn't get in the way of doors looting and also how it looks... I liked the red abyss mare Masanna had as well .... hmmm

Besides they are no good for PvM. They are a PvP Tamer weapons. Use a Nightmare if you want to PvM with your trammie tamer

For me, part of the fun of the game is playing during different phases, and partaking in the different events thrown our way by the development team. Adding the goodies of specific events without the event themselves cheapens that experience for us all. There are items I'd love to get my hands on, but because I didn't play then, they are out of my grasp... which is as it should be, IMHO.

I believe they should be reintroduced, and I believe that because of their use in PvP. While I've never been one to be fond of pvp tamers (In all my years, and without naming names, only two people using the template have I had respect for. One on LS and one on Siege.) I do believe that if people are going to play said template, than the field should be even. I don't think a pvp tamer should have the advantage over another because he played longer or had the gold/cash to buy this desired mount.

Also, even if I didn't support bringing them back before, I would now just because your opening comment.

I say use the feed and change effect of the Ancient Hellhound. Introduce a relic drop like chance for a nightmare treat at a few of the champs. Feed a non bonded nightmare the treat and poof a random stat spawned Dread Warhorse that can be tamed. There is no need for a farmed spawn area. The random chance should keep a good one rare. Toss in that 1 in 25000 chance that one spawns with the Abyssal Black coloring.

And also what Cedric said about pre patch cu sidhes and such. I hardly ever play on my pvp-tamer, but when I do my pet of choice is the pre patch cu. I wasn't around for the Dread Mare thing for some reason and even though I have it, I won't be shelling out 50 to 75 mill to get one either. People who HAVE shelled out that much shouldn't get a further sore behind because of a re-release.

Besides... re-releasing would put 5% of Atlantic's population out of a job.

If you think like that then ALL rare items should be avilable for free, not just dread mares. Lets ruin the whole history of UO coz some people cant stand the thought they missed out on a ONE OFF EVENT

Please, if you were to discuss putting server birth rares out on the market again, every trammie and their extended families would revolt and cry for a month. Should all rare weapons become available to everyone again? Leave the Dreadmare alone. It made a rare appearance in UO history and now can not be obtained. Great.

This makes NO sense to me at all.

It's a tameable... it should be in-game.

I'm sick and tired of the "rares" crowd controlling decent game play... they have had the opportunity to sell the things at ridiculously bloated prices for long enough... it's time to put them back in game PERMANENTLY.

And this comes from someone who's had dozens of the things... and GIVEN them away... to friends who have returned and didn't get the opportunity to tame them.

Yes they should be brought back. If need be, nerf them so they're not a problem for other players. If the traders/rares collecting tamers want to take priority, let them keep the dread mares as pure blacks. Respawn them as long mane dreads instead.

Some tamers want to use pets, without thinking "if I lose this, it'll cost millions to replace". Other tamers simply want to tame their own pets. However much the rare pet sellers and buyers want to protect those high prices, there are many tamers who just want to tame and use pets. I think they should be able to do so.

they are in game. you just have to pay up if you want one. i needed another one and paid 50 mln last week. there are plenty around. it took me 5 minutes of spamming on chessy before i was looking at the one i bought in brit stable.

you know i'd love to have a polar bear mount. but my accounts not that old...

dreads are only good for pvp anyway. not like anyone pvp's anymore....

The yes I voted for is for the simple reason we have new players and returning players who didnt get to tame one... and the high cost of one when it does go up forsale is astronomical!

The no vote players are for that very same reason! Only they want the $$$ the bloody things sell for and dont give a fig that its too much for a pet.

Put yourself in the returning players foot prints kiddo's... they dont have the gold we have been able to collect over the years, nor the new player. I went to the small fair on Atlantic and was gasping at the prices for the trinkets from across the land. EM event things is one thing to over charge for but an animal?? NO I vote for the reintroduction of the Dreads. Not massive heards of them or one right after another but perhps 1 every 6 hours and random locations, it should please both sides. Limited amount to spawn and not in the same place so as to make it something you must seek out to prevent monopoly of the spawn.

You are missing the point. The debate is not about noobs. It is about access to everything for everybody at all times vs allowing rare tames from the past. At a spawn rate of 1 an hr it takes a day for everyone to have one. I personally gave my opinion in a post earlier. However, I could compromise if they would make it a rare event spawn once a month and a real task to tame it. I don't believe in the everything for everybody mantra.

My tamers have good dreads on both shards I play. I use mine for PvM and I like them.

One of the things I enjoy with playing my tamer is to always look for that "better" pet. So I wouldn´t mind if they were put back in into the game.

It just seems stupid that a pet only used in pvp that is still way OP if you know how to use it correctly does not spawn anymore and only a select few have it.
Same thing with bane dragons. However the bane dragons should never have been tameables. That was a stupid move one someones part.

My pre patch cu got deleted dude. Pretty sure Mesanna did it since she was in gen chat talking about deleting them. The only thing I did with it was dismount people and say all kill and it would run faster then them. chomp chomp dead. There are no silver steeds, and the warhorses don't get used in pvp fights. pre patch hiyru? & When can someone use some europa gold clothing to kill me?

Your missing the point entirely this is not about rares. It is about a pet that is being used by some in fel to have a upper hand against people who don't have one and can't get one.

I have 4 dreads, a whole account with nothing but banes and a neon green pre patch lesser that anyone can ride but it sucks and dies to dire wolfs.
My pre patch dog and dragon vanished on atl one day.

I don't even play UO anymore but if I did I doubt you could kill me with gold clothing.

I tried to create a Pet Balance thread but I was shot down for having ideas the community viewed as too complex. :/ Not because people couldn't understand them or acknowledge them as balance changes, but because people knew the devs wouldn't go forth with anything that wasn't a light switch. But who knows.

1 every 6 hours makes that less then 4 a day..period Random areas makes it hard to find...making the respawn that much more slower... when I say vast locations this includes Fel, Ter Mur, Malas, Tokuno and Trammel. 1 spawning at any one time anywhere. This I will go for.

Yeah, Bane Dragons do pretty good in PvM too, especially when lots of crap are on them. Each time they get hit in melee, there's a chance they'll DP their enemy, which the more monsters that are on them, the more damage they dish out due to Poison. Their food isn't a problem for me, since my Cook knows the recipe.
