Quite some time back tehre were changes made to the way lockdowns work. Seems someone had found a way to get free storage out of it, or something. I never did really understand what was going on, just that we were all gonna pay the price for it.

Nowdays, if you have something locked down, everything in that is locked down as well, as it always has been...But to release one item, you must release the container itself. Herein lies the problem.

As a librarian, I keep books in bags in the bookcases we all bought, and have them locked down, set to anyone, for the public to enjoy. Here is the problem...If I want to trade out a book, to replace it with a collector's edition or special edition or whatever else we are getting now and gonna get, I can't do it. Not without having to release the entire bookcase, replace that one book, and then lockdown the entire bookcase again. THEN, I get the pleasure of setting the bookcase back to anyone, each container within to anyone, and EVERY SINGLE COTTON PICKING BOOK back to anyone.:cursing:

Why can't we fix this?

1. Either code it back like it was before, and deal with the abusers themselves instead of everyone who plays the game fairly,:wall: or...

2. Code it where when you set security for a lockdown container, every item IN THAT CONTAINER automatically gets that level of security.

As it stands now, if i put 100 books in containers in a shelf, and set the shelf to anyone, the shelf can be accessed, but not the books within (I have tried this using a second account).

I know it's a simple thing to gripe about, but after a time, it just gets frustrating!

I will third it, we have a library in our town that is approaching 2k books. Can't change anything without having to reset 120 or so lockdowns in a bookshelf.

I griped about this last year.

My suggestion, cascading permissions as a setting on the permissions menu. Make it an option of the container, not mandatory.

I've avoided adding to my library recently because I didn't want to deal with this nightmare...

Agreed here as well... it's sooooooo annoying.

I'd also like to see macro options for "Friends", "Guild Members", " Co-Owners" and "Owners" so that I could simply set them as macros and hit the macro and click the target, quickly setting stuff rather than the whole context menu thing.

I know some developers think that textual cues (such as "I wish to lock this down") suck, but context menus for things like this suck more.

Oh I agree please add this fix it and whatever because I have given up with library books as well since I changed over to the "filled" bookshelves because every stinking bag and every single book needs me to set a permission now and it's such a time consuming pain the ..... behind..... and maddening as all get out!

While your at it finish fixing housing menu in SA so it's like the KR one and I can co-own all my characters to all my homes again PLEASE!!!!!!! *cries* I'm so sad my new gargoyle is "left out" in the cold...
