But is it then Pub 69 which was put on the Test server only yesterday ?Probably
New animations + some new items
I suppose that if you actually took time to read the notes, you might have figured out what the patch was all about? Popps turned into poops again. But is it then Pub 69 which was put on the Test server only yesterday ?
One day on Test to then do a general release on all production servers ?
I'm sure it's just the client patch in preparation for pub 69 going live. I believe the publish notes are on UO.com.
Below is the link to the latest available Publish notes I could find which mention 6 December (today is 8th) and mention Test server, not production shards.I suppose that if you actually took time to read the notes, you might have figured out what the patch was all about?
Popps, are you capable of doing anything regarding UO without having to document it on these forums? You don't need to tell us that you're downloading a patch that we will all inevitably download as well. Assuming that you did download this patch before every other single player in UO, you would be the first person to know what the patch is about, thus making it pointless to ask anyone else. I mean seriously, you couldn't find anything better to do in the two minutes it took to download it?Upon logging into UO the patching prompted me to download an about 65 megs patch.
Is this Publish 69 ? Or what is it ?
Perhaps you should contact EA and notify them that they are not permitted to take any action regarding UO without your prior knowledge.Below is the link to the latest available Publish notes I could find which mention 6 December (today is 8th) and mention Test server, not production shards.
I do not see any reference in regards to a patch download for December 8th (today).
YAY! I see you have more patience than the average bear.Updates to our game generally take place in two stages. The client patch and the server publish. We usually patch the clients before going to TC1 because many of the server publish changes rely on having an updated client. Without the client updates, players would not be able to properly test the update on the test center. This means that you guys as players get some of the changes for the update before the publish actually goes worldwide (in this case the snow)
When you look at the TC1 publish notes on the UOHerald, you will notice a section towards the bottom for client. These are the changes that you will receive ahead of the actual publish in the client patch.
Hopefully I didn't confuse you guys even more with this information.![]()
I would like to thank the OP for my daily dose of WTF. Thank you Poops.Below is the link to the latest available Publish notes I could find which mention 6 December (today is 8th) and mention Test server, not production shards.

It's ALWAYS been true, that if any graphic is new, instead of being a rehued existing item, that you needed a patch to see it properly on TC.
And today is the 8th which is 2 days past the 6th, I assumed that the "patch to see the TC new graphic on Test Server" had already been done, either on the 6th or prior to that.Test Center Update - Publish 69 Available Today!

And how can people test the Publish if the client doesn't have the neccessary files?
So, the logic would let one think clients first, test after instead, if the 6th and the 8th patches are related, my assumption is that we got the other way around, Test first and clients only 2 days later (today....).Test Center Update - Publish 69 Available Today!

Lets just clear something up since you wish to pretend to be logical.I think there may be some confusion here.....
I agree on the fact that clients should get patched first and then Test Server get patched because, as you said, "how can people test the Publish if the client doesn't have the neccessary files? ".
Now, let's see at the 2 dates, the 6th and the 8th (today).
What gets patched the 6th ? The players clients ? Nope, it is test which gets patched.
Then, 2 days later, the 8th (today), we get this 65 megs patch which (supposedly) is needed to patch the clients so that players can go to Test and check out the new stuff.
But wait ! Test already received its stuff the 6th, didn't it ?

That is why I thought today's patch could not be related to the Test's of December 6th and I guessed it could be regarding something else. And that is why I thought to ask.
Clearer now ?

You claim that you should patch first and then test, so if it was UP on test center on the 6th, then logically you patched that already? So why in the world would you ask if it was "pub 69" being released to prodo shards? You do understand we do not need a client patch for ANY publish to go to a prodo shard once it is on test right? You logic is flawed and you are not trying to figure anything out when you answer your own questions and then pretend like it made sense to ask.
I mean look at the last thing you wrote "That is why I thought today's patch could not be related to the Test's of December 6th and I guessed it could be regarding something else. And that is why I thought to ask." But yet you asked "is this pub 69" explicitly proving that you thought it was the same exact patch that should have come out days ago.
Why is this even an issue? This isn't a place for debates on speculation!
Yes people jumped at you as usual, but you also got answers and then as usual you started arguing with the answers with speculation.I simply wanted to know what today's patch was all about, it is not my fault if it grew into debates and speculations.....
I posted a simple and plain question and I was jumped at (as usual...) and I simply went on defending myself.
Nothing more and nothing else.
Oh, and popps, go here :

Everyone told you so. Enough with your conspiracy theories.

Yup.It's ALWAYS been true, that if any graphic is new, instead of being a rehued existing item, that you needed a patch to see it properly on TC.
Similarly, it's ALWAYS been true that if something has a new name, you need a client patch to see it on TC (and that's where those cliloc error names like those from the Abyss house events come from - someone forgot to stick them into a patch, and they don't have real names, just error messages, until patched).
Either of these can keep something (especially holiday/anniversary gifts and vet rewards) from being tested properly.
Anyone that has played long enough to earn any vet rewards, trying to act like they don't know this by this point in the game, are being deliberately deceitful.
Took me 3 mins to complete the download and finish applying the patch in CCThat said, that 65 MB patch was UGLY with a capital "Two grocery bags, PLEASE!!!!"
I have broadband (cable), and that 65 MB Classic Client patch took me over an hour to download (though it installed in perhaps 1 minute after the DL was complete). Cumulative Patches TEN TIMES that size, for either client, never took me that long to download AND install, even when installing the EC for the first time, or reinstalling the CC.
Was everyone downloading the patch at the same time, putting the update server hamsters into cardiac arrest???
Can we dispense with the personal attacks and the bullying please? If you don't like what he's posted, just don't respond. There's no need to use it as an opportunity to be nasty in a way that hopefully most of us left behind on the 6th grade playground...Pops do you have a job?
