Double clicking Threads of Fate and Life Discovery

So I thought I'd give it a shot and try double clicking the threads tonight to see if anything happened.. Nothing seemed to happen except for a few things.. This is what was seen after clicking them.

Fate: "Regret and remorse fall away at long last: you feel forgiven" "Feelings of warmth and appreciation wash over you: you've gained something." "Despair and sorrow sink to the depths of your soul: a precious thing was lost."

Life: "A jumble of thoughts tumble chaotically through, but at last the confusion passes." "For a brief moment you are able to believe something as someone else does, yet it doesn't last." "You have a child." "You are born."

After which they were followed with "The experience fades away as you break contact with the thread..."

Also, if you click on them again too soon you get: "Nothing happens, perhaps you are too tired from your last attempt?"

Not sure what any of this means, but maybe someone out there has an idea? Has anyone else had this happen?

[Edit] A friend clicked on his and this is what message he received from fate: "for one pure moment absolute joy overwhelms you: you've never felt happier!" and "The coldness bursts into flame; For a moment your hatred knows no bounds." also "Passion dances with lust: you know what you want"

And from life: "You made a new friend" also "You begin working" as well as "You face a dark wood with two paths, and finally choose the one you wish to travel"

Nope, the thread did not disappear. And maybe? I noticed that the one phrase hasn't been repeated yet, while the other two have been. "Feelings of warmth and appreciation wash over you: you've gained something." has yet to be repeated.

After some testing with some friends... it appears that only people with NEGATIVE KARMA will get something from the threads.

People with POSITIVE KARMA will get nothing.

Neutral karma, so far, has yielded no messages.

To select side, do you think it's positive vs. negative karma?

Like hitting dark wisp, you gain karma and hitting the FE, you lose karma.

It seems to me that you only get messages if you have the lowest possible karma level. I have a char for RP purposes who is only "Evil" ("evil" just sounds better than any other title ) but he does not get a message from threads. Anywhere (moonglow, alternate moonglow) and he's the one that cast armageddon, went to both events, had blackrock, etc.

My necro, however, who has the lowest karma title can get messages.

I lowered my "evil" mage's karma to the lowest tier, and still nothing. Note that he is a wrestling, weaving mage.
So, I tried it on my red mage (lowest karma) - nothing happened. Red necro: bingo! Blue necro fencer: bingo. Other blue necro fencer on other account: bingo.

So, it seems, only necromancers can use the threads.

Do the threads raise/lower karma when used?

Maybe the direction of the thread, &amp; the type of thread determines the resulting action based on your karma.


Seems odd they would release 2 types of thread, in two different directions. I could see if they were really rare, for collector purposes, but these arnt. So I'm thinking theres something else behind it.

Perhaps its a matter of ability and not alignment.

As a general curiosity. Does this happen to involve merely spirit speak? Not too often do you find a necro without it. Perhaps it's not the necromancy at all...

I have a theory that we'll be able to combine the threads using tailoring.

My only character who can get messages has actually been to the time warped Moonglow.

None of the others, no matter their skills, karma, or fame levels can get any message from the threads but he is also the only one I have with spirit speak: gm SS.

How about for the rest of you? Are you getting the messages with characters who have never gone over?

Ok, my necro or ss user more accurately gets the "Feeling of euphoria" repeatedly...

He has lowest karma. He has also rarly left the house. I was building him in the house to pvp with, but my zeal for extra crafting space took over and he ended up just being a spare crafter.

So maybe there must be things that the character has done that effects the message. Have you pked anyone on your character? If so what message do you get? Did your character turn in blackrock to the robed guys? Are you blackrock infected? Try clicking them with a cloak of corruption or the planesword or shield equipped?

And on BOTH my necros, red and blue, blue is dread, red is nefarious, I got the same message, neither one were in Moonglow on the first OR second day, I have only been in the timerift on my tamer, archer and swordswoman.

Some of the messages from the Thread of Fate seem to be connected with the Principles of Love, Truth and Courage, or the corresponding Anti-Principles of Hatred, Falsehood and Cowardice. The Shadowlords are the embodiments of the Anti-Principles...

TRUTH - "Clarity leads you to an insightful thought, and you find yourself pleased with your rationale."

I noticed that the threads say the same thing over and over.

For example, I lined mine up 1-6.

1 always said You have made a friend

2 Always said You are blinded by colors...

And so on. I have not tried with another character to see if the thread changes for them yet, but on the one tested, it was as such.

Which makes me wonder if you wont be able to use the threads to change the cloaks to what ever virtue (or anti virtue) thread you use on it. SO you could end up with a robe of hate or love.
