Donuts.. from were they came or came from

Alas someone as popped 2 donuts in my post box for the display... so iam asking there werabouts

no mystery. At one time they were server birth, but when the stacking bug came out people duped 100K+ of them. Now they are worth 500k if that.

okies cool il pop them in the server birth display... lets be honest ... 100s of other stuff got duped by the 1000s too...... but ksara.. thats another story and another time i guess....

i was kinda leaning on the EM birthday bash to be fair.. but hey... i belive what i read from manti...

there was a year or so when duping was massive.. a sad year in UO history to be fair

in terms of quantity, the two types of duping were very different, i.e. stackables vs non-stackables. Donuts and other stackable dupes were in much larger quantities. The other fact is their timing were a little different according to the UO timelines. Duping a two story statue took time and followed the laws of doubling 1 = 2 = 4 = 8 etc... each time it required a dupe. However the stackables were much scarier 50 to start = 100 = 200 = 400 etc...

I'd always heard that a seer forgot to lock them down, not server birth. Anyone ever seen a static donut anywhere, somewhere that's visible on all shards (ie, not seer-placed on a specific shard). After that, I'd agree, massively duped.

Well I asked my husband and he's played since day one. He says they came off ghouls. The UO world may never know...

nope, not a server birth and not ghoul loot. they were created by a GM or EM for an event. (i think THP is right that it was a birthday party but the details are fuzzy now.) i think the timeframe was pre-trammel. i remember buying some for deco in my LS house.

it could be multiple places but one thing is for sure they were heavily duped from the stackable bug exploit. But now that I thought about it, it may not have been server birth but GM created or off ghouls.

I recall it being in an event or in the seer hall Brit and people could take them because they were locked down. I remember there being tables with food locked down (thousands) that players could eat, but not take... and then these you could. I think it was actually on Atlantic as well.

For some reason, Pacific, LS, and Atl come to mind as the original seer event, but I'm not sure. If I understand a translation of bloodtile, it says that donuts (from an unknown event) were also found on Japanese shards before xfers were added, so perhaps donuts came from multiple seer events, not just one.
