Does Luck affect fishing?

does having luck on a fisher mans suit increase..... anything!
does it increase spawn of bigger fish, SOS's or the such.

i know it effects when you DO the SOS's, but does it effect the actual fishing of fish.

as far as I know luck does not effect fishing in any way except now when you fish up a chest and open it.

This has been discussed on the fisherman forums..... They say that luck helps MIBs but several of us have tested with luck and without and have found no change what so ever. I personally have wasted 150-175 MIBs to test this out and the only thing worth the effort was the gold from the chest.
