[Blacksmithing] Does Ancient hammers effect the bods you get?

Hello all!

This is quite a simple question as described in the topic.

I am just startiing to get into bods, and i have one of my housing accounds dedicated to smith and tailors..
My question is, is it worth training it to 120?

my concerns are devided into two:

1) Does ancient hammers effect what bods you get ( i found both yes and no answers )

and

2) Does the cap go over 120, i.e , do i have a greater chanse to get high end bods at 180 than 120 ?

It's easy to test.
Take any character, buy 0.1 smith for 1 gp, take on +60 hammer.
But I doubt you will get something else besides iron weapon and iron shield sbods.

ah yes, but i am at 60..
I just wonder if its worth training on from here, or if i could just stop and eqiuip +60's

Originally the quality of a 70+ skill BOD was influenced by total skill, including holding an ASH. It was changed after not too long.

Yes, i have tested it all, and an ASH doesnt boost the possibility to get higher bods. Only seem to be real skill.

Just to clarify, real skill has always helped improve BOD quality, but improved BODS by holding an ASH was nullified after not too long.
