[Mysticism] Does a Mystic need a SC weapon?

Hi all,

if a Mystic wants to hold a weapon while casting, does it need to be a spell channeling weapon? I.e. would a normal weapon unequip if a Mysticism spell is cast?

A mystic's weapon and/or shield must be SC.
